Was Wade the best competition America had to offer Golovkin at MW?

I have read from several posters how they feel only big fights happen in America and if a fighter doesnt make his name in America etc.
Personally I dont agree with that at all as there are some very good fighters that arent known behind the hype.
For example Spence is being highly touted and may well go on to be a top player but at WW there are also other fighters who have arguably done more and are lesser known like Mikhaylenko, Ponomarev, but because they are not known there would be no hype if they were to be beaten by a champ for example.

I am not completely sold on Golovkin but it does appear that he seems to want the big MW fights and seems to be looking for them and that opponents dont seem to want to face him.
Alot of posters seem for him and others against him, but he has done what many American posters claim a fighter should do and establish himself in America. So what more is Golovkin supposed to do? He has called out the big names, and seems willing so was Wade really the best American MW available?

    Best available?

This thread should be saved for when he fights a voluntary rather than his mandatory.

I think if 3G only had some unknown unwanted title at the age of 34, then you could ask questions, but fact is he is a unified champ with 3 major belts these days AND he is not afraid to defend the.

But yeah if he was the type of cowardzaghe who had just, say that IBO belt, an unknown unwanted not recognised one, on his 34th birthday then you could definetly ask questions about him having a bogus reign over bums.

I think Jacobs and kid carob are both better than Wade. The thing Wade has that they don't is the desire to face a monster.

Has Jacobs shown an interest in Golovkin?
Golovkin seems to be wanting and looking for the big MW fights. Is Jacobs looking for Golovkin?

Thats the thing about who is available. If someone doesnt want to face Golovkin (and I dont know if that is the case with either) then chances are he wont get the fights, which is why I wonder if Wade was the best available

u don't think 3G's activity in the MW division is more relevant for having three major titles than if he had just a minor one?

I do, sorry u disagree mate.

No, Golovkin's team approached Korobov when Johnson got injured. It was the IBF that slipped Wade in as the mandatory instead of giving Golovkin a voluntary.

Korobov would've been the best defense available, and I really want to see that fight.

What about Kell Brook and his utterly horrible string of title defenses? He's fighting worse guys than Golovkin, but since some of them have been mandatories, he gets a gigantic pass.
