Was Wilder naturally gifted and just never provided the right training?

It was not just Wilders power alone which worked for him, it was his punch speed, accuracy, timing and killer instinct when he had an opponent hurt.

In the last two fights, his punch speed and output has badly diminished and even a slow plodder like Zhang was able to read the right hand from a distance.

That Brazzeale knock out was not just Wilders power but the speed at which he launched the punch to hit the target. Without the punch speed Wilder is not the same dangerous puncher anymore.

Father time waits for no one. Fighters who rely on speed, athleticism do not last long beyond 35-36. Same thing happened to Mike Tyson and David Haye towards the end of their careers.

Usyk took up boxing at 15 y/o and he clearly had incredible natural talent. He had excellent athleticism, coordination, speed, agility, fluidity, footwork, accuracy, etc. whereas, conversely, The Dosser is an always has been an uncoordinated mess one-trick pony who can't fight.

The only reason he was able to achieve all he has is because the WBC are in cahoots with PBC and they rigged their rankings with zero to no skill NFL rejects, dog trainers and crab fishermen and kept him away from legit guys who actually possess skills.

That's why his fans and the hype machine have to make such a big song and dance about him beating Ortiz who was the same age going into the first fight as The Dosser is now, because Ortiz does actually possess skills and is his only real claim to any type of legitimacy. But even then it's smoke & mirrors because Ortiz has a short reach, lead feet and a head with is a magnet for right hands. As does The Dosser's second best win Stiverne ie. they were sitting ducks for his power.

AJ took up boxing aged 19 and it's night and day in terms of talent and natural ability between him and The Dosser. He's an excellent technical boxer

To be fair, The Dosser does have a bomb of a right hand and is naturally blessed in that department for sure. He also has arms which are leg length which was instrumental in his success albeit down at the C, D and E level. And also to be fair, he does have a lot of heart

The only world class fighters he fought who actually possess skills are Belly, J-Park, Big Bang and Ortiz and he barely won any rounds against them. The gravy train would've come to a grinding halt much sooner had they not protected him from legit guys for so long.

The WBC had him ranked #1 after back to back stoppage/KO defeats to Belly in his own backyard and those fights weren't even competitive sans one or two rounds.

They also installed Stiverne at #1 almost three years after losing to The Dosser even though he'd only fought once in that time and was dropped in that fight by a decent journeyman
