If all the above are true then it’s hard to argue against him being drugged. I always assumed it Wlad’s inability to pace himself early in his career that caused him to gas out after the 5th.

The only poison was Brewster’s fists. There was always a chance if you got to Wlad’s chin you can get him.

The rematch was years 3 later when Brewster was obviously past his best, and was coming off a loss and over 1 year inactivity.

Wladimir also changed his style after losing to Brewster, and was much more passive and limited his punch output.

There was no substantial truth to any of this.

Makes no sense he was drugged considering the fight very nearly got stopped in his favor just prior to the KO. He punched himself out and couldn't recover. I recall Larry Merchant commenting on it prior to the Wladimir KO.

Naaahhh. It's clear that Wlad punched himself out on Brewster and his muscles were suffering from lactic acidosis. The same thing seemed to happen late against Puritty. It's one of the reasons he always tried to control the pace later in his career. Big, very muscular dudes have bodies that burn through energy and oxygen. I've seen it happen in other fights, such as Carwin vs Brock Lesnar.

Except for that Wlad was never actually proven to have taken anything whereas Fury was bust

Rumor was that Fritz Sdunek did something to Wladimir's bottle because he was pissed he got fired and replaced by Steward.

If this were true, it would be a pretty damning case.

I doubt that it is true. I'd expect it all to be widely known. The media or fans have just never been interested in overwhelming evidence of a HW championship being rigged with drugs? OP can't produce one link? Then how does he know this stuff? Just the odds going from 17-1 to even, is something I think many people would widely discuss and remember well.

I doubt it would be possible for Brewster's team to bet millions. First, you'd have to have millions in cash (IDK if they did or not). Second, Vegas books are not going to just let anybody bet millions at 17 to 1, or at any other odds. Third, even if they somehow did this, it would be a slam dunk case once the bettors were identified as team Brewster. They've caught people involved in point shaving because their relatives were betting thousands. Never mind millions.

^ It is true that there were betting abnormalities in Wladimir/Brewster I, but not quite to that extreme. The fight started at 11-1 and ended up at 3.5-1. Also, the Palms took down the Vitali/Sanders fight shortly thereafter for that reason. Note that the same thing happened in Lewis/Holyfield I.

Having said that, you only hear about this stuff when something weird happens. There were a lot of substantial shifts in earlier Pacquaio fights, for example, as Pinoys flooded into Las Vegas.

    Thanks. Good link.

Yeah 17-1 to even is a 5.5% chance for Brewster to 50%. Or 9 times more likely.

11-1 to 3.5 -1 is like 8% to 22% or less than 3 times more likely.

It is still a big move and worth questioning. But there is a pretty big difference between the OPs claim and reality. And, as you said, not the most unusual thing in the world with boxing odds. Not many people want to lay 11-1, or whatever the number would be with vig added. Many people enjoy throwing $100 on a long shot.

Only niave, stupid or willfully ignorant people think Wlad or AJ haven't taken horse steroids. Vlad got booted for roids as an amateur.

Who was "behind" Oswald when he shot Kennedy?

Nobody, because he was a ******* lunatic communist who did it all by himself.
