Washington vs Miller

Cool fight on a good card. I think Washington will take an early lead, his jab is decent enough to score him some rounds but ultimately Miller's strength will let him break Washington down for a late stoppage

 

Actually, No. The angle from the live camera feeds did make it look that way. But there are angles from inside the arena that paint a different picture.

Washington is clearly out on his feet at the end.

Yeah, he still only took 2 clean shots, 1 just before the ref stops it which wobbles him... Was still an early stoppage.

 

Washington is clearly done. He falls over trying to walk a straight line.

"Wobbled"? The guy was hit so badly he looked like he got tased. I worry about his health.

 

He doesn't fall over, he stumbles which is no worse than Kovalev was doing against Ward... The ref was far to keen to jump in and stop it.

 

And how would Washington defend himself in a condition where he stumbles trying to walk a couple steps?

He was trying to walk to his corner. He couldn't even walk a straight line for a few steps.

 

Up until the final punch he was still defending himself, the ref jumps in almost as soon as it lands robbing him of any opportunity to show that he can defend himself still.

 

It's possible that the ref interfered with Washington's ability to defend himself at the beginning.

Regardless of how it happened, by the end of the exchange, Washington was clearly gone and unable to defend himself, as evidenced by his inability to stay upright or walk a straight line.

 

I'm going with Miller in this one, Gerald Washington in every fight seems
to be a fairly fragile guy. Miller, while not an future ATG by any means
does some good things in the ring. He throws in combination (up and down
to the head and body), he's not fast and I don't think he has lightning in
his fists but he's a very heavy handed guy, going by how he hurts people.
He's a giant but seems real sturdy. I think he runs over Washington to
be honest.

 

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree here...

 

Good fight, I think Miller wins by stoppage unless the year lay off hurts him. Washington is decent and has a big edge in top fight experience I just don't think he holds up to Millers power.

This is on a strong deep card and not scheduled for tv coverage I wouldn't be shocked to see this fight moved to another card where it gets a tv slot.

Interesting fight, i pick Washington by UD, he fought the better opposition and sparred with Wladimir Klitschko.

 

Great fight. It's a 50/50 match.
I think Miller will win by UD, but Washington will be a tough nutt to crack.

 

Hes also more active and i dont hold anyone that needs to check their weight as serious enough,Washington is a gym rat and always the best shape possible...to me this is going to be why athletism is import in fighting..its a good even fight but Washington SHOULD outbox miller if hes going to be serious about getting a title shot again.
