Wasn't Froch much faster than we have seen before? and how did he do that?

he wasnt that much faster anyone can be fast if they dont put power behind punches.
there were times he threw quite fast combos for him but was slapping bute really.
also Bute speed overrated so there wasnt much difference

Didn't really notice any speed difference in him. I think people are look way too much into this.

He had an opponent before him that would crumble under any form of attack; giving him the freedom to unleash violently without much concern of what's coming back (because Bute's legs weren't with him).

Like I've said in another thread: we learned more about Bute than we did about Froch.

This. . . His trainer focused on "speed" during their camp. . He said "don't worry about power, speed, speed!" meaning, as you said, to not worry about throwing "full punches", but rather just letting your hands go fast, and the power would then come along with accumulation of punishment.

McCracken deserves some credit. . . i always say trainers are never really responsible for what happens in the ring, and it's almost all on the boxer, but by listening to Rob 100%, Froch made this look easy. He circled to the left, let Bute lead, and threw fast, "arm" punches rather than fully loading up.

There wasn't that much difference in his speed, at all...as has been said.

Boxers like Dirrell and Ward can make someone look slow. Bute obviously made Froch look fast.

He hit 5 grams of speed before the fight because he knew those loaded gloves would make him even more slower than usual...

    oh for **** sake...

"Look an Englishman beat somebody that was meant to be good... Surely there must be a conspiracy attached"

Bute was hyped up better than Jeff Lacey and Froch has his number... get the **** over it already.

3 days later and still countless threads of conspiracy theories... shits getting old real fast

    That explains it.

"don't worry about power, speed, speed!"

    Well done MacCracken....wow.

lol, sarcasm appreciated. . but seriously, in the documentaries following their training, there was a part where Rob kept telling Froch not to worry about throwing "full power punches", meaning not to worry about putting all your weight into the shots, and you can throw a lot faster punches if you just "arm punch" in flurries, if you will. . . Froch listened, and instead of trying to load up on every shot, he just let his hands go.

you cannot teach speed and they were not arm punches.

what this really means is that Ward and Dirrell are much faster than Bute and Froch

no, you can't teach speed, "per se", but to say you can't get a boxer to utilize more of the speed he does have, is just silly, and a myth. . .

and yes, the punches froch first stunned bute with were not "full power punches", they were short, quick straight right hands. . .
