I can sort of understand what you are saying. Vitali didn't look amazing but it was his first fight in 3-4 years and to be honest he didn't have to look amazing to beat Peter. I have never seen someone look so one dimensional whislt getting an absolute pasting and still not to try and change their game plan. Sam Peter is with out doubt the dunce of the class when it comes to boxing intelligence. It's been awhile since i last saw a fighter win a fight with out ever putting his guard up.
it was a amazing display by vitali after a 4 year layoff going straight in against the WBC champion of the world, give the guy his credit man he beat the crap out of peter even though peters approach to the fight was rubbish, you have to give him props for holding out that long, he was brocken down by the end of the fight
I know what you mean, but Vitali always looked slow. Do you think his KO ratio is pure luck? Vitali looks slow, but he isn't. His punches may look soft, but they aren't. In addition he has a chin. That's all he need for Haye. I would love to see that fight. Wlad vs. Haye is different (closer). Peter hasn't the skills to win against Vitali, but Peter is not as weak as it looked like. It was Vitali who made him look that bad.
How in the heck did he look bad. His hitting was precise. He worked his left, his overhand right, and they landed. Yes, Peters was slow and all that, but he was slow before and never before dominated by any one near to the extent that he was dominated by Vitali. Vitali used his height advantage to keep him at bay. He would do so against Haye as well, whose already been starched before. He might attempt some bull rushing and even hit vitali, but Vitali has a much stronger jaw than Vladimir. He's never been knocked down, much less knocked out. Haye surely wouldn't do it, especially at the heavier weight.
The only bad thing I saw (apart from his flaws he carried even 4 years ago) was that he seemed to get tired faster this time around. Much of the fight was spent with Vitali throwing a combination, backing up, breathing and throwing another. That tomato can he fought just stood there, ate all the punches and did nothing. Even when Vitali took breaks he was given ample room to do so. Give it a fighter who actually gives a **** about his profession. Vitali will be in a real fight then. Not this lame **** we saw last night from a pretender who needs to disappear.
I am not a huge fan of vitaly but if u think he wass not impressive cuz he wouldn't just slug it out and picked him apart then u just don't know the sportatsch and vitaly would KILL haye
people on this site should be required to have one fight and have t post it on here cuz I think alot of people dont know how hard it is to box a guy like vitaly...he made peter look like that..it is not that easy
Please explain to me how can you look bad, landing about 90% of your punches, hurting your opponent and not getting hit yourself in the process?
How in the heck was he scared to mix it?? He didn't look that winded to me, his punches in the 8th were probably stronger than his punches in the 1st. He did absolutely no clinching at all, like his brother. The object of boxing is to hit, and not be hit by the othe guy. He didn't run away from anybody. He used his reach advantage & pounded Peter. Of all the other fighters who fought Peter, none did what Vitali did.
He looked great especially for a guy that had not fought in 4 years. Everyone here was saying how much ring rust he was going to have etc.
