    Seems there were fights every week, plenty of booze, broads and lots of gambling....
    Plus you were in the company of wiseguys at every fight

    Yes, it was a great era.
    1930s to the 1950s.
    Mob guys had more respect for the sport.

    Much better than today. The mob would have been appalled by the bloodsucking tactics of todays promoters and sanctioning bodies and that says something.
