The 154 Charlo is moving up to fight Canelo. Never saw that coming. Everyone presumed it would be the 160 Charlo. I think he’ll have to vacate the WBO and Kelly is #2 with the WBO.
No one is interested in the Jermell Charlo fight to be honest. Ryder would beat him easily at 168. I don’t even think a UK broadcaster will pick up the fight. Kelly would lose to Tszyu but I guess can’t say no to the fight if it’s ordered.
Hang on you think John Ryder would easily beat Charlo, even at 168lbs? I think that’s enough internet for you today.
Yes, Charlo is a career 154 fighter. Ryder would beat a lot of the big names at 168. Very underrated fighter.
Yes I know in which division Charlo boxes at pure maths. Even coming up 2 weights I would still fancy him to outbox Ryder easily enough. Be far too quick for him.

They also have a show in Bolton on Friday September 1 headlined by Lyndon Arthur challenging for the vacant IBO World Title and a British Title clash between Samuel Antwi and Mason Cartwright. Arthur's opponent only has 1 defeat and 17 KOs in his 18 wins. Very good card. https://boxrec.com/en/event/876019
Wasserman's deal in 2023 was to show at least 6 shows on Channel 5 I believe. They would have done 4 up to the September show so I presume they'll have 2 more at the back end of the year. They recently won the purse bids for Chloe Watson's European Title shot which will be on one of those cards. I can also see a step-up for Harlem Eubank. Wasserman can stage the rest of their shows on any other platform as long as they meet the minimum requirement for Channel 5. I don't think they'll do anymore on DAZN this year unless Josh Kelly fights again in 2023 which I think is unlikely.
Best fight for Ryder is a rematch with Callum Smith after he loses to Beterbiev. Good UK grudge rematch that should make them both a few quid. Ryder would be giving up a bit of weight but should back himself anyway.
Lyndon is not defending the IBO title. He's not the champion and has never fought for it. It is a vacant title.
