I see. Well to me Kessler-Bute is one of the fights that's least likely to happen at SMW... I don't see him running after the winner of Bute-Froch considering the rematch clause, I see him going the Ward II route with Sauerland trying everything money wise & PR wise to have Goosen oblige to a trip to Denmark. Not saying Ward would travel, but their second fight might be in NYC, maybe Vegas. My hopes for Bute-Kessler are pretty much dead at this point.

Saurland and Kessler himself has rejected the rumors of the bout against Stieglitz getting cancelled..

I'm sadly quite confident that Kessler-Stieglitz wont happen. No hype. No undercard. No Jimmy Montoya.

    Rumours a'plenty over here.

    Kessler is done, should retire.

He beat Froch, was a good fight, shouldn't let himself down with all the nibbling injuries.

Who knows? I doubt it's Ward. That would be stupid without a tune-up. Injury, retirement, promotor fallout........ I don't know. Just silence.

As posted earlier in this thread I think it will go likely this way..

Could be a clever move from Sauerland, with Kessler they have the chance to fight for the IBF (Bute) and WBC/WBA (Ward rematch) and Abraham gets an easier shot at the WBO after Stieglitz beats Groves.

Abraham is a underdog against Kessler, but against Stieglits its maybe a 50/50 fight and so they try to collect more than one belt in the SMW.

Most likely for Kessler is the Ward rematch, so Sauerland would fight for 3 Belts instead of 1.

Thats the Point why Stieglits will fight Groves first, AA said he will fight for a Belt in the second half of the year..:deal

Ginger Groves WILL beat Stieglitz if they fight. I'd be way more hyped for Groves vs Stieglitz than for Kessler vs Stieglitz.

Rumours are that Kessler got problems with the eyes again and is seeing double etc in sparring. If so this would mean another year and a half out - or possibly retirement.

Any source - Sauerland Event, MikkelKessler.com, Mikkel Kessler Facebook and twitter are all dead silent about the situation :?

Kessler had birthday Marts 1, a hell of a lot of greetings on his Facebook, but no comments from Kessler - that's not like him................:think

Stupid move by Kessler letting this fight slip. He'd have beaten Steiglitz and made 1 or 2 keep buisy easy defences and then he's in line for another shot with more barganing power. I hope Groves doesn't win because he's done nothing to earn it and we all know he'll cherry pick if he wins. He hasn't got the chin for world level yet.
