That would be a great fight, I think fighting on the inside would play into Peterson's hands as well.

He's exactly the talent level and skill that gives Matthysse trouble

Obviously the power is a factor, but Peterson got from Ortiz's power and went on to put on a hell of an effort and get a draw (arguable robbery, but closer than it should have been after 2 early knockdowns)

I'd favor him over Matthysse unless Matthysse shows me something (I don't know against whom though)

 

Just take a drug test and he will look like he did vs Bradley

 

Very, very impressed by Peterson tonight.

That said, I'd still pick Matthysse.

 

I like peterson or mean liked PEDerson but Matthysse would take his soul & title quit playing.

 

I would like to see it. More exposure for Matthysse. I dont think it would be very wise for him to stay on the inside with Lucas though. Best shot you got to beat Matthysse is box with speed from the outside.

Can't believe people are suggesting this would be a goo fight for Lamont style wise. It;'s the opposite, Lamont grinds down and no ****er is grinding down Matthysse.

Style wise at 140 only Khan can lay claim to having an advantage with his speed, but then he ain't gettting off the canvas after he takes a flush one.

Matthysse will clean up the division make no bones about it.

 

Well against high level fighters like Judah and Alexander he didn't KO them, so I won't say it is a give he KO's Devon, who wasn't KO'd by a 160 in ring for real Ortiz.

 

Fighting on the inside gives Lamont a chance to smother Lucas's power while banging his body. Soto was able to stun Lucas for a while with his body attack before being over powered.
