i did a check left hook a copule times when i was slap boxing my buddies in street and in school. we slap box using the back of our hand because we didn't have no gloves. i use to be the smallest one out there so ill have to fight on my toes and after i'll get tired and ill be like **** it i got to catch him coming in. he threw that lazy jab, i lean back pivot to my left bam. check left hook it wasn't as powerful or beautiful as mayweather but it was beautiful of course i didn't know what that was called then until i seen the mayweather hatton fight but i used it on reflex couple times. everybody was like damn that lil muth****a fast i wasn't boxing then. but man were those days a couple years ago

Sarcasim aside, I believe the term was used during a Mayweather fight by an annoucer. When Mayweather caught someone coming in with a hook, so the term was created, and made fun of here. And the joke just ran amok.

It's nothing more than a made up term, and we have fun with it here at times.
