The other thing I hate about watching old footage is that it's quite obviously sped up. It makes it look like these guys had RJJ-type speed, which clearly wasn't the case.

I said SUBTLE movement dip****. Of course hes catching a few, hes also moving his head just enough to avoid the shot.an something called parrying Hes also lookin to come out to hurt him off top. I bet you think Danny Gracias staring at the ground throwing a hook is great technique, an quillins head movement don get me started. You know **** about boxing really

its not sped up. the first fight thats on there they brought in a camera that they used to film hollywood movies in the 30s. that fight was a big event n they spent alot on the filming, more than they spent on most at the time....

When did I bring up Garcia and Quillan?
He's catching punches with his face and there is no parrying or head movement. You're claiming this guy as an example that boxers then were better than today. Compare him to a Mayweather or Lomachenko. It's you who doesn't know **** about boxing, stop romanticising these guys just because they are filmed in black and white and living six feet deep.

Compare him to a guy that fights once every 15 months? Lol yeah ok. i love floyd but no. Lomachenko? Please go. Im not romanticising them. People on here down old school fighters an i was showing technique. He is parrying an moving his head an giving angles subtly hes not wasting energy. something fighters do today an gas out ofter 8 rounds. You just dont have an eye to see it. Of course hes catching shots hes tryna take him out early

Eh, I guess you're right. But seriously, there is a dreadful lack of defense from these guys. No upper body movement, no head movement, squared up and thowing wide leading left hooks.

1:18 When Steele throws a leaping left hook and floors a MW Champion for the 1st of 13 knockdowns in 3 rounds and the only knockout loss of Dundee's 140 fight career its a "wide leading left hook" with shitty technique. When RJJ does it makes him the most athletic and #1 LHW of all time.

There tagging eachother its an offensive fight. Not every shot is landing on freddie full impact if you watch close hes moving with it.

I know what you're trying to show and it's not there. You have an eye for seeing things that don't exist. Those guys are doing the opposite of efficient movement, they circle for the hell of it and then move in with their upper bodies as stiff as a board taking punches. Their technique is terrible both offensively and defensively. They move around on their toes, never sitting down on punches or distributing their weight properly, standing high throwing telegraphed shots. The only reason there were knockouts was because there was no defence from anyone. Those clowns can't even throw a proper right hand, they lean in off balance and lift their back foot off the ground. There are no angles from anyone, upright and moving in and out in straight lines, no rhythm or fluidity. The only punch they throw correctly is the left hook and that's because they always have their weight on their front foot.
These guys are honestly ****ing terrible boxers, all you've done is show that boxing technique has evolved tremendously since then if this is an example of the cream of the crop from that era.

And look at his opponents defence, hands at the waist and leaning back. These guys look like wild amateurs, those right hands are painful to watch.
