Since watching McCline dropp Sam Peter 3 times and almost stop him, watch Vlad start working on the missing(or underused) weapon in his article...Lennox used it well and its a good weapon for tall guys, Vlad has a good hook uppercut (Peter Fight 12th RD) but should add this uppercut to his arsenal...thoughts

IMO, Vlad doesnt throw the uppercut because it leaves him very open for a counter, and we know he has chin issues.

He can beat all these guys without the uppercut, to be honest, and so why take the risk?

Exactly. He has used an uppercut way in the past. But he doesn't now because he can't take flush punches on his jaw.

Fighting inside it is a pre-req to have an excellent chin. Without one Waldo will get KTFO. Which is also why you never saw Lewis brawl on the inside.

I'd actually like to see Waldo use an uppercut against Sam Peter in a rematch. More opportunity for Sam's own left hook to land. :yep

That's right, and even though Ali had a chin, and fought well enough inside, he preffered not to, and prevailed better without it.:hey

    Agreed. :good

He does have an uppercut and used it a few times in his fights with Mercer, Schulz but indeed they are rare. I think he should watch some Lennox Lewis fights with Steward, and work on getting some routine on using the uppercut, Lewis used it as a great weapon against Grant, Klitschko (Vitali), Mercer, Tyson and others.

What about Povetkin? Povetkin is averagely tall for a heavyweight (6'2, same as Peter) but i still think against a pressure fighter like him, Wlad could put it to good use. It's the only thing his arsenal misses.
