Lampley was clearly riding Martinez. I thought Martinez won the fight after watching it the first time because I was distracted by commentators. I was shocked by the first 3 rounds. I watched it again on Sunday and scored the fight 115-113/116-112 for Williams. Williams won the majority of the middle rounds. I gave the first round to Williams. I thought Williams won the last two rounds as well. gave round 9,10, 2, 3 you could argue round 8 i guess. There were many swing rounds. I challenge everyone on ESB to watch this fight on mute, rescore it, and report back to this thread.

I already tried but all I could see was Williams landing plenty of pitty pat punches mixed with some hard ones. His head though was still rocking back and forth from Sergio's punches.

    Still 115-113 Martinez

Oh what crap! If anything HBO's commentators were giving Williams too much credit for his volume of punches and ignoring Sergio's stiffer lands in many of the rounds.

lampley went wild everytime sergio landed punches. in the exchanges, where both men landed leather, lampley only focused on martinez's work

I never let the announcers sway my opinion. I agree with what they say about 5% of the time and find myself getting upset at what they say. They dont report what is happening but rather try to make you think something is more exciting than it really is. I watched th fight 5x and i scored it 7-4 1 even.

I'm not even going to bother arguing with someone who doesn't have the balls to post with their actual username. Grow some hair on your peaches and then get back to me.

Even Williams knew he lost you can see it in his face. Martinez won 115-113. Guy got screwed twice this year from his biggest wins.

Martinez won with the harder, cleaner punches. A lot of Williams punches were hitting air or not as effective.... remember, u gotta score a rd with clean, effective punching, and that's what Martinez was doing....... even with sound off, chinese, russian, or vietnamese languages... the outcome isn't gonna change!!

Thats kind of funny. But I had Williams winning 115-113. Could have gone either way and I wouldnt have been surprised if Martinez had won. 119-110 was embarrassing to say the least. I also gave PW the 1st rd, rds 4-7, 8( i think) and rd 12. Rds 2, 3, 9(i think)10 and 11 went to SM. I'm doing this off the top of my head. A few were a toss up. If I watched again, I might come down on the the side of Martinez. It's clearly subjective and sometimes, you see something I don't or viceversa. I might reward something you don't. I think Martinez landed the more meaningful shots in the fight, hurt PW more for the most part. But he was also hurt himself, and managed to hang onto PW to avoid further damage. He fought an excellent fight. PW was busier and more aggressive, did less holding and was fresher at the end, even though I gave Martinez 3 of the last 4 or 5 rds. His head going back or whatever doesnt factor into it. It's round by round and then add em up. I've liked Williams for a lil while.....(Quintana 2) and Martinez since the Cintron debacle. I called it as I saw it.
