IMO, it was a draw. Sturm was more accurate however, he was not that aggresive which was his downfall.

    generous i say

sturm did not lose the fight. DLH started off fast and had a small lead and the last 4 rounds were all sturm. i had it 7-5 and while close i couldnt give DLH more than 5 rounds

its amazing that people out there had sturm losing. i dont think DLH landed more than 10 clean headshots that night. sturm picked DLH's face apart

if dlh landed zero shots that night he d have got the decision, thats boxing for ya.there was simply to much money to be made on hopkins dlh to let sturm win.
yet when hopkins beats dlh he gets credit for it being a defining fight and the beating of a legend when in reality he beat a blown up welter out of his depth ala trinidad.

116-112 for me, Sturm of course... but a DRAW? No f.king way! Noooo waaaay man...

UD for DLH... it was so horrible, so absurd that me any my friends weren't pissed off or angry in the first place... we were SHOCKED! We were even laughing because we couldn't do anything better... couldn't say anything good at the moment... silence spread through the bar...

It was so bad even for a DLH fan as myself, that we couldn't really discuss the situation too often afterwards... everyone wanted to forget how horrible it was, and this time DLH in the bad situtation, as a bad winner...

I had it 116-112 for Sturm. Oscar was expecting to just walk through Sturm and came into that fight in not good shape.

Sturm was accurate, however his punches seemed insignificant for it lacked power. And also, there were a couple of time DLH was able to slip his jab and hit him with shots that did not hurt but it made sounds when landed which the judges counted IMO. Going into the 12th, I had it 6-5 DLH.

All DLH hit was Sturms defence. Sturm clearly was the better man that night and got robbed. That night I lost all the respect I got for Oscar. :(

True, DLH hit Sturms defense most of the time. However, it was DLH controlling the action and the punches landed by Sturm seemed insignificant since they did not seem strong enough.

I remember Sturm snapping Oscar's head back with the jab on a number of occasions.

Wow, I guess you can be blind nowadays to be a judge - just listen to the sounds of punches landed...

I'm a huge De la Hoya fan, and have been since I was a kid, but he got beat fair and square that night. I had it 117-111, and going back the closest I've had it was 116-112, but I can't find nearly enough rounds to give to Oscar. People seem to detract from Strum for his hardest punch being a jab, but it was a hard effective jab and it was harder than anything De la Hoya landed often.
