I like Berto. But in this time of boxing business, Berto should be on HBO fighting 3 or 4 times a year. If nothing else, so the fans SEE him. That is the problem, he is exciting, young and undefeated but he should be fighting every and anyone. If he fights bums, then that should make him look that much more spectacular, yes? To answer the question about Mosley and Forrest, we have to remember that much of Forrests problems in boxing were due to a bad shoulder. I believe he fought Mosley with decent health while he said his fights against Mayorga were when he had shoulder troubles. I think Mayweather will have to either confuse the hell out of Manny or knock him out. Otherwise, work rate from Manny is just too much to ignore by the judges, a lot like Calzaghe. it is tough to give a fight to a low output fighter, even if he is more accurate. Bernard was schooling Calzaghe, but the Welshman looked busier in the later stages of the fight. And Hopkins did not help matters by complaining and acting.
IMHO i think Manny is to much for Shane at this point in Mosleys career. Styles make fights and i dont think Shane has the style to dethrone Pacquiao.
Pretty good analysis actually. I pick Pacquiao by late TKO as well. I know styles make fights and that comparing their mutual previous competition doesn't usually yield the best analysis, but I feel like this case is a bit different. If you look at the trilogy of fights between Mosley, Cotto, and Margarito, and then compare those fights to Pacquiao's fights with Cotto and Margarito AND consider that Mosley is getting older by the day, it will paint a great picture of what will probably happen in the Pacquiao vs. Mosley fight. Sugar Shane will most likely show up at his best for Pacquiao (as opposed to his uninspired showing vs. Mora) but I still think Pacquiao does exactly what he is supposed to. Pacquiao by TKO in 11 or 12, most likely with no knockdowns.
KO Kidd... Manny's a very underrated body shot artist. You didn't see Morales II round 6, Diaz, and Margarito round 4? Those vicious body shots made ME **** blood after the fight.
Heres my take on this fight! Mosley leaves in a wheelchair. He is going to get brutally injured in this fight from punches he wont see coming, when he goes to hit Pac, he wont even be there.
Pac will look like a ballerina against Sugar. If Floyd won't fight Pac, beating that Pac will serve Sugar will be one of the excuses. If Mosley connected a clean shot in the early rounds I feel already bad for Floyd if he ever faces Pac. It ain't a bull**** fight tho, Shane is a top contender. He'd probably beat most of the tops even at his age.
good post. i just think shanes last 2 fights, both were vs opponents who move well and are slick and make him miss a lot. after the 3rd for shane,he didnt carry on doing what won him the 1st two rounds, and floyd was more cautious after surviving too. maybe ring rust had some effect too. with mora fight, mora didnt try fight really, just made himself hard to get at,did not want to engage. with pac shane has a good chance in some ways with shanes long arms, good speed despite ageing and real real bad ass power if he can connect. i think pac will not need nor want to test his chin or toughness vs mosleys punches early on,like he did vs margarito and cotto. he will use the jab a lot,and he will move around so much, movment being shanes problem, with him not dealing with it,and him not moving ring generel ship wise. pac will fight rather like he did vs oscar. pacs in and out turn em around work will really fluster shane, shane wont be able to set his feet down and time any good powerful shots. pacs counters with both right and left hook will start to wear shane down about mid fight. i think pacs speed is more dangerous than floyds,as pac uses it in such a aggresive attackin high rate of punches and combinations. shane should fight berto after this fight,as berto will think hes shot and feel brave, and then shane can KO this fraud berto and maybe rematch cotto,or fight williams. then retire on a good run of great performances.
I believe Pac will handle SSM, to me the key is Pac's discipline. If he is able to be cautious, avoid head to head exchanges, and not allow SSM to get into a rhythmn he will dominate. The problem is I'm not sure Pac can do this, I see no reason for Pac to try and trade with Shane in the center of the ring. I would also be concerned about Pac trying to take his little breathers on the ropes, SSM has faster hands than anyone Pac has faced in a long time, and Pac has grown accustomed to getting away with some things that he may not be able to get away with here. There's a reason Freddie said that Shane "was just too good" for Manny, the million dollar question is how shot is he? Can he find his youth for one night...unlikely, but if he were able to muster the stamina, and quickness he can give Pac problems. Contrary to what someone said earlier, Pac was hurt by the Margo body shot, he said so himself and you could see it in his body language during the fight. I believe the way to beat Manny is to beat his body, he has shown to be somewhat open to this kind of attack.
Agreed, anyone will feel a good bodyshot regardless of how good their chin is. The hard part about landing bodyshots on emmanuel is that he's not flat footed. Whoever is smart enough to get him into the clinches, he sucks at fighting here anyways, can land bodyshots.
well mosley offense is pretty good too we will see neither has defense and shane hardly through his ;eaping left hook against floyd lets see if he does
