Watched Klitschko Lewis for the first time.

over all, true lewis was behind and on some instances, lewis was pretty shaky and had to grab on so many occasions.

would have been a better fight if lewis did not grab and hug too much. in many stretches, both fighter looked so gassed out and hugging or wildly swinging.

maybe, good idea to make it only a 8 round fight for fighters that big, when stamina is always a problem.

 

Lewis definitely won clean. He landed the right punches to jack him up and stop him.

Its impossible to say he'd have cut him the same way in a rematch. Just is.

Lewis was coming on in the 6th, but both were done. Any round of the fight had it gone on after that point probably wouldn't have had much but clinching and a couple of haymakers so obvious and blinded a bloody Vitali would have seen coming, and he himself didn't have enough left to stop Lewis.

They were TOAST at the end of that fight. Lewis appropriately won on cuts, but BOTH men were finished after that 6th.

Lennox had the right to retire, but it was either that or fight Klitschko again. No other fight would have been appropriate, and in my opinion, despite my being a fan of Lennox, I still find it unfortunate he didn't give Vitali the second chance: Vitali stepped up on short notice, and saved the card. He deserved a rematch, he fought hard.

 

Read what I wrote again. I clearly stated it was the right hook with 30 seconds to go that had Vitali desperately holding on. He held on after the uppercut as well but was not too hurt badly as Vitali's chin is made of granite. Maybe I was being a little over exuberant with my language but you can't deny Vitali was holding on in the last 30 seconds and stumbled foward which for me signifies he was hurt.

 

i think its the other way around..the way lewis sat down on his stool after round 6 he looked a beaten man.

 

Lewis was tired... no doubt.... but he was the one doing all the fighting at the end of the round while Vitali finished the round clinging onto LL like a baby to a bear so if anyone was beat it was Vitali... LL was exhausted not beaten

 

I gave Lewis 2 rounds as well, can't remember exactly off the top of my head but 3rd and 6th I think. Fan of both, fair result, would of loved to see them go at it again but hell they gave us 6 great rounds and for that I'm grateful, it was a million times better than some of the recent heavyweight bouts due to the extreme lack of competition and talent matching the Klitschko bro's. Would of loved to see Riddick Bowe and Vitali get it on in a fantasy fight, that would of been pretty epic.

 

A lot of it was because Vitali was competitive with Lennox, which hadn't been seen since Lennox had fought Holyfield. (Rahman just caught him with a punch).

Lewis was clinching every time after Vitali landed. He clearly wanted out of there. He was fighting the man with one eye and still losing the fight.

 

Idiotic thread by a Lewis fan.

1. There can't be an insurmountable lead after 6 rounds. Do your math.

2. the probability that those cuts would happen again in the rematch are very small and not most likely.

 

Actually, when it comes to cuts opening up from previous fights, it's very common that it does, and it would be very likely that Lewis would purposely try and open those cuts again.

 

Well interesting enough, the 6th round is the only round Lewis won on all the score cards. So if there was any momentum happening it was definately for Lewis at the time the fight was stopped.

 

This whole idea of Lewis being too exhausted and just giving up on the fight is ridiculous. Lewis was fighting since he was a child and he never quite because of exhaution. Given that he knew this could be his last fight I suspect that quiting was about the last thing on either of the fighters minds. In fact I think it's insulting to both these fights to think that either would have quit.

 

Lewis was lucky in the way he ****ed up Vitali's face with his hands in a boxing match.

No way the fight should have been stopped until vitali's face was missing like that dude off the silence of the lambs film!

He's an ugly ******* anyway. Besides who needs a face? Features are overrated

 

If the rematch was quite soon after the first fight, then the chance of the cut opening up again is very likely.
