    Dear Poochilles:

Are you illiterate? Duran was a damn fool for failing to get in great shape for the rematch against a man he admitted gave him his toughest fight. He was twice the fool for quitting. He lost the fight by TKO and deserved to have his house burned down. He disgraced himself and his sport and has no excuse.

See what happens when you suffer from copromania? (-look it up) You become a sh*t-for-brains.

    Sincerely,

    Soft(-hearted Stone)hands.

Just because they fought the gameplan they said they were going to fight doesn't mean it was the right gameplan. Taking the fight to Duran was the wrong gameplan

Leonard changed his gameplan to boxing and moving and dominated

Leonard and Dundee were saying before the Montreal fight that they'd prepared a moving strategy and that they thought Duran had footwork/balance issues they thought they could exploit (though that could of course demonstrate the irrelevance and unreliability of fighters'/trainers' opinions as much as anything else).

    meh

duran was the better man in montreal.

leonard was the better man in new orleans.

why can't we just leave it at that? the y fought twice in their primes and split the fights 1 a piece. everyone (leonard fanas, duran fans, boxing fans, mag etc) should all be happy with this.

And even better, they're both top ten in my book. An insanely difficult accomplishment to achieve if you got in the game in the second half of the 20th century.

There's also the one about how he balooned up to over two hundred pounds(Duran claimed to have gotten up to 230 ) in just a month or two, despite his own manager claiming that he was around a 164 pounds over two and a half months prior to the actual fight.

Never mind these two; kotv is showing a rerun of bruno pulling it all together against mccall.

We're discussing the potential goat here.
