If this guy Liakhovich can put in a performance tonight like he did against Helenius he can give Wilder a lot of trouble... used the ring well against the taller guy has decent head and lateral movement, avoided most of Helenius right hands until he started gassing. He landed some big shots on Helenius, I think we'll see Deontays chin tested tonight. Likes to throw a lot to the body, if Wilder doesn't stop him in the first 4 i think this fight favours Liakhovich. Haven't seen weigh in pics but apparently he's in good shape Looks to have stamina issues but dont think this will be an issue, would be surprised to see this make it past the 6th. 1.20 on the under seems like free money This is a good test for Wilder, high risk low reward type opponent, seems like hes been unfairly written off as another bum. Definitely a step up in competition
Helnius is big and slow. Wilder is much more explosive. Havent seen Sergi fight for years but he was never fast - if wilder can avoid the bombs he might be able to get him out of there
Helenius would probably moider Windmiller, but you can't just compare those 2 fights with eachother. I think Wilder catches the even older and more past it white wolf early. But it might also happen the other way 'round. I would be surprised if this one went beyond 6.
The two fighters styles are so vastly different, you can't really make any comparisons. Wilder is a twitch fiber, speed and power banger. Helenius is a steady, foot planted banger. Only similarity is the power and their both tall. Serhei's speed and movement were better than Helenius hence his boxing success. He wont have those advantages against Wilder. I do hope Serhei cracks him a good one though, I'm interested in how Wilder takes the shot.
I'm wonder how much of a role White Wolfs body shots will play in this fight. Wilder doesn't have much on him and I think this fight goes late he'll be very tired/weakened from the accumulative effect of all of those body shots.
This is what I've been saying. The more I think about this match the more it seems perfectly like Thompson/Price.
There is a chance definetly if Liakhovich can avoid those big bombs in early rounds like he did against Helenius. Wilder is so big and muscular that I see him slowing down if Liakhovich is able to keep pressure on. But I think Wilder catches Liakhovich early and it's over before it really started.
