While cotto looked good early on margo was actually working cotto to the body, all the time we saw cotto throwing flurries/combos at margos head, margo was just hitting away to cotto's body with hooks and uppercuts, it seemed to have gone unnoticed by the commentators, i think this wore down cotto,

also cotto was not working the body, he was throwing full power shots to the head and margo is a beast he once took 3 left hooks in a row!!

i still think cotto gives mayweather a tougher fight than margarito.

Cotto definitely should have gone to the body more.

It was a breathtaking spectacle. I didn't expect it to be as good as it was.

also to add, it wasn't any one punch that hurt cotto it was just the activity of margo, margo kept coming and coming, cotto looked very tired in the 9th and 10th and by the 11th he was finished, he was falling all over te place and couldn't even keep his hands up.

margos hooks and uppercuts to the body were beasts. thats why he one couldn't throw no punches back because he was too tired. and two he wasn't able to fully move away from margo in the end and gettin caught to many times.

I didn't watch the whole fight for the 2nd time, I was skipping a bit. But still, Margarito was doing much better than I thought when watching the fight for the 1st time. It wasn't flashy but he was doing the damage all the time.

I agree, Cotto is a tougher challenge for Floyd stylistically.

I was surprised how little Cotto attacked the body, and he showed a lack of savvy by not holding and clinching when in bother.

I would like to think that he showed more balls by not holding and clinching, than a lack of savvy... but I won't lie... as someone rooting for Cotto (although still a Margarito fan... just not as big of fan) as the fight went on I wouldn't have minded had he started tying Margarito up more often. He did a few times, but only when he seemed very hurt, and that is something I can respect.

Which for him, is very low.

I can't fathom how in the heck he thought he could headhunt the iron chinned Margo, and almost completely ignore his bread and butter, the left hook to the liver/body.

I think Margo beats Cotto almost everytime they fight, it is just a bad matchup for Miguel.

I can't belive Arum threw his cash cow into the ring with Margo, when there were easier options. Of all people, you would think Arum would know that this was a bad matchup for Miguel, he promotes both of them.

I give Cotto credit, he did what a lot of other guys avoided, and that's get into the ring with a high risk/medium reward guy like Margo.

its like what cus d'amato told mike tyson about george foreman, swarmers are bad style match ups for short peek-a-boo style fighters.

need to watch it again to see the bodyshots margarito was putting in the bank in the early rounds. the 7th swung it for me, in what i had as a shut out till then. when margarito threw those 3 uppercuts and hurt cotto 2x, that turned the fight. margarito looked more comfortable leading and pinning cotto against the ropes cutting him off, instead of just following him around waiting to get countered like he did early in the fight. also, margarito's work did'nt look clean when you look at it in real time. but when they showed the replay's after every round, you could see his glancing shots knock cotto's head back, and the amount of punches he landed to the body. my heart still feels heavy due to the result, but that was a great fight.
