Watching 70s Heavyweight boxing,why does it seem like these guys are actually having fun

Frazier was a badass.

 

In Champs are Forever, Foreman humorously noted how much it seemed that Frazier enjoyed fighting - the Quarry fight being the one example he gave.

 

Max Baer had a LOT of fun in the ring - perhaps a bit too much as it turned out.

To be fair, it wouldn’t be remotely fun to fight Deontay Wilder.

 

Yeah, did you see the clip of him knocking a guy out in an airplane recently? He will always be a dude you don't want to **** around with, I think.

 

I wouldn’t put too much into it. They have clowned around a bit more, but they all were pretty serious and passionate about the sport. I don’t think Frazier was having fun when he almost died after the FOTC, or when he was getting bounced around the ring in Jamaica.

Ali played to the crowd and also tried to psyche out his opponents, but went through hell in training and in fights just like everyone else.

 

Yeah I did. Gotta admit, on that occasion, the passenger was acting like an insufferable pr*ck and, tbh, it looked like Mike was deliberately only hitting at his body, shoulders etc. - Mike could’ve easily head shotted him and put him to sleep. That was a relatively disciplined Mike we saw there - lol.
