For those that have been to a professional fight, do you all prefer being at the fight watching in person or at home on tv? I haven't been to one in person but think it'd be like watching a football game. I'd think you can see the action better on tv but the ambiance and atmosphere would be much better live. What do you all say?
Being in attendence is MUCH better, although it depends where you're sitting and what fight you're watching, who the participants are to bring the crowd, vanue etc. But even being in the nosebleeds is an experience for a boxing fan. I don't know about anyone else, but i also find watching it on TV and being there live, you tend to get different perspectives and even different scorecards. I attended Hopkins vs. Winky and saw a different fight watching it again on TV.
Everything you said. Much more amazing to be there and soak up the atmosphere but unless you fork out big time, you ain't gonna get a better view of a broadcast.
Ai'nt that just the case:yep Just watched Tyson/Holyfield I/II again, i was at both fights & the hairs on my arms jumped up when i heard the roar of the crowd, ****in awesome memories & i would'nt be a judge for any amount of $$$$ how the **** do they concentrate, sensory overload when yer watch it live especially with 14+ pints of TECATA mex lager swilling around yer gut
Me and my old man are going to go to a fight or two this year. Vegas is unattainable...far to expensive, really.
The better seats are almost always at home, as far as the view goes. The hurting punches are almost always more noticeable in person. You feel what the fighters are going through more so in person. The best is recording a fight on DVR at home while you're at that fight in person, then coming home and watching it on T.V. I'll be doing that on Friday.
Save up, promise yerself, even if it takes 1/2 years, try out those travel outfits in boxing news or if yer go solo as i do you can get some great deals, i don't gamble so vegas don't hit me that hard but belive me it's managable. Flights are a ****er now what with all the tax but fight tickets are usually well cheaper than any warren show here & hotels are dirt cheap, trust me, it's managable & it all comes down to how bad you want it & believe me once you've experienced boxings mecca you'll come home witha diff outlook life in general. I know it's a long way to travel for any 1st timer but the rewards just from what you'll experience will far outway any bank debt paranoia
A boring fight in person can still be fun because of the atmosphere... a boring fight at home equals an early nap... so it depends on what you really want... I prefer in person for anything.....
Most affordable seats have to watch the jumbo to see the action SO just get a good surround sound and big screen ...
the sound of a glove against a boxer's face is just one of the greatest spectacles to see live. You get a true appreciation of the sweet science.
