Watching Holmes/Spinks 1

    Either way, Holmes came out looking worse.. In my eyes it proved Spinks was the greater fighter in someways. He moved up and beat him significantlythe first fight.

    I think this pretty much sums up Holmes championship reign on the whole.

    Irregardless of Rocky Marciano's quality of opposition, Larry was clearly milking it post Witherspoon. You don't have to be a Marciano fan to see this.

    Well, he still had a couple of good wins, Bey for example was a good fighter and he got stopped.

    I do mostly agree with you overall, though. I think Witherspoon was the last we saw of prime Larry Holmes, which coincides with my assertion that Tyson beat a Holmes nearly five years past his prime.

    That scare certainly caused him to shut up shop and sit on the title - well the IBF after he was stripped of the WBC.
