What a farcical result this was. I know it won't happen but the governing bodies should start thinking twice about holding big fights in Germany. Robberies in favour of the home town fighter are too commonplace there and we all know they happen in Britain, America, Canada and so on, but they are rare. In Germany, they are far more frequent. I know you can say that the referees or judges are neutral but the amount of bull**** decisions which happen there is unbelievable. I remember watching Robin Reid vs. Sven Ottke 7 years ago and that is the still the worst decision I've ever seen but these robberies aren't infrequent in Germany. Lebedev clearly deserved to beat Huck, I thought by 4 rounds, yet he didn't get the decision. It's pathetic.
So that's 2 robberies in 7 years... I see you're from England, have you ever heard about Chris Eubank?
Eubank got more than one gift decision, it's common knowledge. And what's your take on Sturm vs. DLH? I bet you're one of those guys who claim Oscar outworked him, right? Schulz - Foreman comes to mind also... Please stop this bs-threads, it happens everywhere.
You should watch FNF in the US :deal And the Brits have had their fair share of robberies too, it's like the pot calling the kettle black.
Like I said, all countries have robberies, yes, but no country is as bad as Germany. You couldn't get away with **** like Reid/Ottke elsewhere.
Ok that's fair :good But it looks to me most of the robberies seem to happen in the US, not Germany. They are the most blatant, I'll give you that. But have you ever watched titlefights over in Italy, in the 80's and 90's? Those guys make Tilleman look like a saint!
Germany definitely reduced it's number of robberies. Huck-Lebedev was one, but not Valuev-Ruiz caliber (last ourageous robbery in the country) or Martinez-Cintron, McDermott-Fury, Kotelnik-Alexander, Aydin-Dan, or Shumenov-Campillo.
Huck - Lebedev wasn´t a robbery. Lebedev was more active but Huck landed more power punches with better %. IMO Lebedev won a close fight. Alexander vs Kotelnik for example was more of a robbery than Huck-Lebedev.
atsch You're right. Valuev-Ruiz then. Or Valuev-Donald. Some serious bad decisions happened around Valuev once he signed a co-promotional agreement with King. Which ended with Valuev-Haye, and guess what, Niko loses a close decision in Germany.
