Watching Joe Cooper last night brought back memories

    He still tries to intervene too much between fighters, and still does his , "lets throw some thunder" haha. What a character.

    In fact, I think the brain injury of Prichard Colon was caused by the poor referring of Joe Cooper. He did nothing to break the two fighters.

    I was impressed with Cooper. He took 2 points from Colon when he deliberately hit Williams low. Not many refs would have the ***** to make the right call there but, clearly, it was the right call.

    Also, Cooper told Colon to stop holding and fight, which forced Colon to stop the holding. More refs need to warn about holding much earlier in a fight. I hate it when refs don't warn early. It completely changes the dynamics of the fight.

    Holding has been a part of boxing since its creation. It's a part of the foundations of boxing and it should be boxers. Boxing is not a macho man's sport, its a thinking man's sport, and as such it should be implemented.
