Hey guys, I'd really appreciate some help with this. I am a huge boxing fan, have been for a long time, but I've never had the opportunity to catch a big fight in the flesh. I'm feeling like Pac/Mayweather will be something I am going to want to tell my kids I was at and so figure I should try everything I can to make it to Vegas to catch it. My question is since I am a small timer financially, how bad is the view from the seats I will be able to afford? Obviously watching fights on PPV and such has offered me a perfect vantage point for my whole life. Is it going to suck for me now to be in Vegas or Dallas or wherever, and watching from 10 miles away? I know atmospherically it will be worth it, but for the spectacle of the fight will it? From those nose bleed seats can you really see everything? Thanks a lot for any helpful responses.
If it happens in Vegas your tickets even for the worst seats are going to be quite pricey. If it happens in Dallas you should be able to get tickets for a lot less. Plus they've got that huge ass screen in the middle. Please happen in Dallas!!!!!!
Don't they have a huge screen on top of the ring in Vegas? Isn't that where they played the Pac/Cotto ring entrance montage things?
Word. I had nosebleed seats @ Pac-DLH and they were a grand per ticket. Would love to see this fight go off in Dallas or New Orleans.
I was in Vegas for the Cotto/Pac fight and had seats that were pretty high up. If you have good vision, you can watch the fight pretty well no matter how bad your seats are. The MGM can only hold between 14-17,000 people. It was awesome, man. Thursday we met a bunch of big boxing personalities, including Freddy Roach, team Cotto, and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Friday we went to the weigh in and got to take pics with Al Bernstein and Roberto Duran. I can't even explain how crazy it was to actually be at the fight. Overall, the trip was pretty expensive but mainly because we spent so much at the casinos and I put a hefty bet on Cotto because they were paying $220 for every $100 bet. Well worth it though.
They weren't bad, because of the big screen, but, I don't think I'd pay a grand for them. (They were comp'd to me)
Did you lose a avatar bet? If the fight happens in Dallas or New Orleans I'm def going to go. It will be my first major fight.
M.I.G. -- so you'd recommend it? Thanks a lot. That's exactly the kind of response I was looking for. Which price of tickets did you get? And I feel your pain on Cotto, I had a four figure bet on him myself...
Buy the tickets as soon as they go on sale. Get on ticketmaster.com and do it ASAP. We stalled and paid an extra 70 bucks per ticket because we bought them through a third party website. Our tickets were originally $300. I'd definitely recommend it. Anytime you get to witness history, I'd say do it. Watching it on TV is nice because you have a good view of the fight, but you can see it pretty well in the MGM and it's a completely different experience.
NEW ORLEANS NEW ORLEANS I was at the Superdome last night for the Saints game and I was thinking about Pac/PBF the whole time. I was wayyyyy up in the nosebleeds and I definitely would have been able to see the fight in good detail. Plus there are huge screens, etc.
I was watching espn right now and they mentioned PAC n Floyd already agreed to fight. at 147 only the date and location hasn't been set yet so just keep a ear out for a anouncement and be ready to buy the tickets as soon as they go on sale
I have come to like watching fights on the big screen at a friends house a lot better then the arena. Every hardcore fight fan has to at least go to one big fight, and since ive done mine, now i like to actually just be with friends, standing there with a drink and some chips watching the fight up close on a big screen tv. that being said.... IF this fight happens in the Dallas arena, i might go to this one.
