Another foreign fighter robbed in Britain. Hoffman stoppage was a joke! Hoffman is up at 5 and doesn't walk forward- he's a foreigner how is he supposed to understand what the ref is saying to him? McCrory and Nelson's explanations are a farce! Compare that to the Price fight where the ref was desperate t o give him every chance he could to recover- no idea why any foreigner comes to Britain to fight, constantly not given a fair crack of the whip. This would never happen in football due to the media attention, but in boxing its just accepted.
I know it was an absolute disgrace. The sky sports commentators were talking absolute rubbish about him not stepping forward, and that is why the referee stopped it. While the commentators and media just cover it up, we will never have a fair and open sport. They did not point out the obvious, Timo clearly had all of his senses about him and was ready to continue. You could clearly see he was in no distress at all. I am not sure if the referee was paid off, or it was just bias decision against the foreign fighter...but a disgrace:deal
i dont think he understood what the ref said he was clearly ready to fight at least let him carry on then if he eats a right hand stop it these british events are always ruined a bit in one way or another
That was my initial thought, but the ref was also beckoning him forward with his hands, it doesn't matter what language you speak, you know what that gesture means.
McCrory and Nelson were sickening the way they totally ignored what happened. Hoffman put his hands up and nodded that he was ok to continue and the ref just waved it off. Terrible stoppage and even worse punditry.
The ref didn't just say "Walk to me", he gestured with his hands as well. Hoffman is a 50 fight veteran and has been boxing for a very long time, he must know what the ref wanted him to do. Hoffman didn't look hurt, but he did appear to be rooted to the spot.
