Toney was too stationary to beat a guy like Jones and would lose 100 out of 100 times.:deal PBF has much better footwork and foot speed than Toney, not to mention much faster hands and stamina. I agree a fighter like RJJ would give PBF problems but it's just isn't that simple as saying the blueprint was in the Toney fight.

I don't see the need for "a blueprint" to beat Floyd. Floyd is a great talent, but he's eminently beatable, and different fighters could get the better of him in different ways. Considering the trouble he had with Jesus Chavez and Jose Luis Castillo, I'd back a guy like mid-late 80s Julio Cesar Chavez to beat Floyd, as he is basically a far far better version of that style of fighter. Intelligent, controlled aggression and pressure allied to volume punching with emphasis on the body would win the day. In a different way, I'd back Manny Pacquiao or another southpaw with similar speed and explosive relentlessness to be able to outwork and outpunch Floyd. Floyd is very skilled, but he has his weaknesses like everyone else, he just hasn't fought anyone who can capitalize on them.

Toney was a fat blob and at the end of his career. You probably know nothing about James Toney.

Maybe you should amend your claim to "Toney is just better in about every facet (except the 'being a professional boxer' facet...)"

Oh, I get it. It's the genetic blueprint for how to be lightning fast, freakishly athletic and...wait, what?

Toney used the high guard defence during his fight with Johnson (southpaw). He would also use the Archie Moore "dips" in his fights with other southpaws like jirov and Robinson

Toney was finished as an elite fighter at that point. It would of also helped if he came in around 220 lbs instead of 135 lbs
