watching thrilla in manilla..joe frazier is a jealous and bitter old man

Actually the thread starter is a bum who was banned from boxing scene and came over here with thesame **** but kinda got owned in this one.Mofo made 3 Paul Williams hate threads since he came here,damn fool.

 

I like Paul Williams (& said he'd school Winky) & would love to see him fight Pavlik. Great fight, while it lasts. Paul is very active, but I don't think he punches too hard, even though he killed Quintana in the rematch.

i watched that documentry, and considering evreything they have been into, it was astonshing how they shown no respect to one and another, it was quite scary looking into Joe 's old eyes and seeing just hatred and envy, I know this poster has had it hard but least he wanted to get the topic of ali and fraizer talking, but im just saying how joe couldnt even give ALI no respect at all, was to feel to pity on whats happend to joe, they both fought for all the glory in MSG that night and in the end Fraizer and Ali have both been given the glory of a great boxing career sourounding there names

 

How anyone watched that documentary and can say this is beyond a joke.

 

Frazier is somewhat proud of what he did to Ali. He believes he assisted to the Parkinson's syndrome. As bad as it may sound if someone said the things Ali said to me I would be too.

 

I honestly feel where he's coming from. he took a lot of **** from Ali and did a lot for Ali. Some things cut deep, especially during times they were apart of. Ali was held in such high regards and his legacy only got greater over time. While I feel he needs to burry the hatchet I completely understand why he is so salty. Ali was very mean and cold towards Joe. I love Ali and everything he did for the sport...unfortunately Joe was "collateral damage".

 

Good post! You've quick summary from both side...I understand Larry's points and I also understand Fraziers anger....I thinks its a good debate were to many posters in here blew the whole thing out of proportion.

the way Ali racially attacked joe fraziers characters prior to the fight damaged Joe Fraziers credibility in the black community to the point of no return.... For those of you who arent black... im not trying to make it a black or white thing but I'm not sure if you could fully understand.... as the young man in the documentary explained that is the most disrespectful thing a black man could say to a black man..and coming from such a credible source as you could see in the film the black community took Ali's Word for truth...

so he took something away from joe frazier that joe frazier could never ever get back... his credibility as a black man which is one of the biggest struggles a human being can be put threw.... so I fully understand fraziers anger towards ali can easily accept it... there are certain lines you dont cross and ali crossed that line and once ali took away joe fraziers credibility jf could never get it back

 

ali did joe wrong but the muther ****er made that trilogy **** fraiser could not make that triology that interesting with out ali but the documentary really made dislike ali more cause he is a racist

 

:good In those times the US was very divided racially and calling a black man an Uncle tom was serious in their communities....not to mention ALI by most was the "face" of the Black people at that time so I'm sure Joe had to deal with ALOT of **** on top of the **** coming from ALI. I'm sure those years for joe were really rough. Like I said....Love Ali and what he did for the sport. I love what he's done for the world since his career ended but he really did Joe dirty to say the very least. But I think that was part of what "made" Ali who he is.....Ali talked **** about everyone but none of them ever helped ALI in his toughest times like Joe did and I think that is why Joe is so salty.

i think even now calling someone who is black an uncle tom is ridiculous.....it should never ever be said black man to black man....

back then im sure the implications were 1000x worse

but you could see in the doc. joe's son even spoke bout how he would be in school and kids would make fun of him about it... and im sure as time went by blacks still never looked at him the same...... i think for ali to even say now that he was only doing it to promote the fight makes it worse toe be honest.... it just makes the whole thing seem like a big ass joke when in reality it should have been & was taken extremely serious....

To add to all that, Frazier was the one who lived the real black mans life, coming from a poor farm with 8 siblings and then living the hard life in Philly.. Ali lived a comparably white-middleclass life in Louisville, Kentucky.

Frazier was a simple, but honest and honourable man, who would treat you well if you treated him well. He did Ali a huge favor, then got back stabbed. Big time. Over and over. Hyping the fight is one thing, but calling him an uncle tom and convincing the black community that Frazier was no real black man, was unnecessary and ****ing evil. Frazier could match Ali in the ring, but outside of it, everyone listened to what Ali said and took it for granted, while they were lies. Who wouldn't be bitter about that?

Personally i though the comments of pushing him into the Olympic flame and being proud of contributing to his current state, went a bit too far, but he has every right to be mad and bitter.
