Watching tonight, it made me more confident that Ward would have his way with Kovalev

Barrera is more dangerous than anybody on Kovalev's resume.

I don't know why but the Eastern Europeans have leaky defense - and Kovalev is no exception. In that second round Pascal landed some clean LEAD right hands and LEAD left hooks. It's not a good sign when a guy on Kovalev's level gets caught with those kind of punches. He also fights with his hands around his waist. I think Ward puts on a counter-punching clinic and UDs this guy 8-4...

Punching power is meaningless if you can't find the target. Kovalev will have problems landing cleanly on Ward..

    That's what I'm seeing.

Kovalev squaures-up too much to beat a guy on Ward's level.

When I look at Kovalev's resume I am underwhelmed to say the least.

There aren't any dangerous fighters on his list.

Ward is about to fight Sullivan Barrera.
He's more dangerous than anybody on Kovalev's resume.

Lomachenko is one of the best defensive fighters in boxing.

Hopkins was awful last night, and in his awfulness he continued the legacy of RJJ's regular insipid and platitude filled commentary. Once upon a time, Roy used to be good at commentating. I don't recall exactly when his comments started to become useless and sometimes incoherent, but whatever has inflected him seemed to contaminate Hopkins last night - and also in his appearances on Lamply's talk show where he's been equally awful.

Point of all of this is that for the sake of HBO viewers who value quality commentary, Kovalev needs to kick Ward's butt. Ward is a natural commentator who brings a well spoken intelligence from the subjective perspective of a fighter. If Ward truly cares about boxing he'll fight Kovalev and properly get his butt handed to him like most of us expect him to, and then rightfully take his place at the commentary table where his talents can really shine bright. :yep

Lomachenko is an exception. He fights nothing like the typical Eastern European fighter...

    No.

Wlad's defense was absolute Shi'ite up until he learned the art from Emanuel Stewart...

Vlad was with Steward during one of his KO losses.
