Watching tonight, it made me more confident that Ward would have his way with Kovalev

Guys with good defense don't get knocked out in 2 rounds by semi retired pro golfers.

No doubt, and I'm not making the argument that an Emanuel Steward trained Wlad has an elite level defense. Not at all. However, I will agree that Wlad's defense improved under Steward...

I am talking about Steward era Wlad obviously so your BS is irrelevant.

Kov is #2 and GGG is #3 right now. So #1 is a moot point.

How many times did Emanuel Steward trained Wlad get hit in fights on an average basis? I'd like to hear numbers.

Nobody said he was, genius. It seems like you cannot answer the question and I am not surprised, it would refute your agenda. And if talking about Eastern European fighters Dmitry Pirog had a good defense as well.

The fact of the matter is this, if Eastern European boxing is SO good then WHY does almost all of the top Eastern European fighters have AMERICAN trainers?

    Wlad had Steward
    Bumlovkin has Sanches
Kovalev had Sanches and now has Jackson

    Why is that?

    Care to answer, Genius?

Why do you change the subject though? That has nothing to do with the original topic. You failed to provide the exact number of hits Wlad takes in fights on an average basis, so you come up with some other BS which is completely off topic.

There are a lot of good trainers in the countries of the former Soviet Union, but they train amateur boxers (and win medals at the Olympics). The good professional trainers are in America. See, at least I answered your (irrelevant) question.

Ward's speed will be a major factor. Kovalev has power as the equalizer. But, he hasn't been in with someone that fast and with that level of skill. He will be missing A LOT...and getting hit A LOT. If Ward sees the final bell, I see his hand being raised. This is not the fight that Ward should be clinching all night. That gives Kovalev opportunities. He needs to stick and move, use his speed and defense. And he should clinch a little to mix things up. But, he must not be predictable. He needs to keep the pace high and tire Kovalev. Kovalev also has good timing and serious power all night. So, that timing has to be thrown off, by Ward. Great matchup though, agsinst 2 of the very best, right now. Hope it gets made.

We're going to be seeing a lot of this in their fight until Kovalev decides to put him away.

    Kovalev is incredibly accurate.

Kovalev is a natural LH weight and a big puncher everyone on this forum thinks this fight is all sewn up. if ward takes this fight then their is not doubting his courage as he is the smaller man with less power however hitting ward is easier said than done and I think he has enough power to worry kovalev and his speed and skill are obvious he also has a good chin and is mentally strong .if ward wins on points as I think he could possibly do then I hope all the people who hate him on this forum have the bottle to admit they were wrong.I won't be holding my breath on that one though.

If Ward would be confident about this fight he would call out Kovalev now, not after 7 adjust fights and 3 years. It is clear Ward is scared, and rightfully so, the dude ain't stupid, like some of this morons posting here. Kovalev would retire Ward
