Wawzryk is criminally underrated, he ain't the best but he's at least a top 15 fighter in the game.

I'm sorry, I'm stuck on his record being impressive but his résumé not. Do you mean that as in record of his opposition regardless of result? They differ by only one opponent.. I'm not sure the addition of Povetkin (in an embarrassingly dominant loss) to his weak résumé of wins makes it a very impressive record of opposition faced.

 

So again you mean Wawrsyk is like so many people Wlad fought over the years? Had a cute record because they didn't fight anybody.

and just in case you did not notice wlad and joshua are fighting each other in there next fight

wilder is fighting a warm up fight in order to get ready for his next warm up fight. after getting injured in his previous warm up fight.

 

This is very disappointing as a huge bomb squad fan. Wilder is my favorite boxer right now, but not even I will defend this fight, I'm not like little g fans. He should have fought Ortiz, or Pulev, those are actually the only 2 solid names that are actually a possibility. Even though there aren't many good choices and he cant move up like the little one, he should have done whatever he could to get these one of these fights.

 

golovkin might not have huge names, but every single defense was against someone better than wawryzyk.

 

Wade, and Adama arent any better than the pole rock. Not only has GGG never fought a huge name he's never fought anyone with a pulse, while being 10000x more hyped than Wilder.

Straight up, predictable (jab-jab-move...jab-jab-move), T-Rex reach, didn't look like he was in good shape, no special effects, he's toast. I'd say he's maybe not as good as Duhappas.

to any layman on paper this looks impressive
when you read the names on the record and when he fought them you see his resume is a sham and worthless.

team wilder will try to sell the fight v wawrzyk on the 36-1 record to the general public and not hard core boxing fans.

all they see is the record and not understand how a fighter who is 36-1 has no chance at all.

This is a straight-up con, the less than savvy casual fans. I don't get it.. Wilder has been saying now for years he wants to unify and how he is the best HW on the planet, and then continues to take easy fights without fighting a single name that matters.

Exactly. Wilder's management KNOWS he has a glass jaw, so they keep him away from anyone who is remotely decent (and don't tell me about Stiverne, who has been exposed as ridiculously overrated, and totally limited - to say nothing of being ill when he fought Wilder).
