Hasn't fought for three years, since that defeat to Larios. He's fighting a guy called Juan Ruiz for the NABF title. Good idea? Bad idea?

Very very bad. He's taken enough shots, and had enough wars in his career. Unfortunately, with his chin he's a prime candidate to suffer puglistic dementia in the future.

Sadly I got to agree with TFFP; a granite chin mixed with old age, a long time out of the sport and a face first defence, is not good.

    What weight?
Is he planning a long term, or is this a "Goodbye Fight"?
    (1 last fight is cool)

But if he's thinking about getting back into the mix with all these new kid's.
    I agree 100% with TFFP.
(I would not advise him to continue past this win or lose)

I hope he win's and goes out with this NABF title. would be sweet!

This guy has a death wish.

Not to sound crass, but he's a vegetable case waiting to happen.

Someone should sit down with him and make him watch his second fight with Larios....though I'm still not sure it would make a difference; he'll probably do what he wants to anyway.

If I remember correctly Harrison and Morales beat the **** out of McCullough, at his age he should stay retired.

I have it on good authority it's his missus who keeps pushing him about the comeback. Bad idea. In his day he could operate at the top level and go 12 with the best because you'd need an elephant gun to knock the lad over. I really do hope it's a one off and luckily enough the Ruiz lad is meant to be feather fisted. The fight is at FW. However, apparently McCullough want's someone out of the Munroe/Martinez/Dunne bracket for a EBU shot and then another pop at a world title down at SBW

Loved McCullogh as a fighter in his prime, but this is close to madness. As many have said above you can understand him wanting a goodbye fight and not wanting to end on the rather bad note of the Larios defeat, but to plan another title shot and that back down at SBW is crazy. I was saddened the night he was manhandled by Harrison and never thought then that he'd still be fighting all these years on. Then again, if the lad passes the medicals who has the right to stop him fighting. Just hope he has the judgement to get out before something bad happens. Maybe there should be some kind of seniors circuit for these guys who can;t leave the sport. At least it would be more fairly matched than the likes of McCullogh v Larios etc. Sure there would be a fair bit of interest as well as the fans always follow the names. Niot that I'd be too interested to be honest. Just a thought.
