Also, strangely... Fenech and McCullough have a common opponent in Jerome Coffee. Fenech went 15 with him. Years later Wayne knocked him down in the first then stopped him in the 5th.
McCullough is game and durable as ****, but he'd get bested by Fenech (who's simply the classier fighter).
McCullough's workrate would bother Fenech. His workrate had Morales just about ready to quit during the late rounds. It would be a high paced battle, lots of fierce exchanges, with Fenech's heavier blows giving him the edge. Both were very aggressive and hittable. This fight would be hardcore affair and a fans favourite. Neither of these guys would be willing to back down and take the sting out of the fight, thus become defensive. McCullough doesn't have the power to trouble Fenech, but he does have the durablity and workrate to keep right in there and make it competitive. Fenech on points.
Yeah, that's right. On the subject of McCullough, I saw the 'Rocket' fight at Maysfield leisure centre in Belfast when I was about 9 or 10, it was very early on in his career. Circa '93 or '94 (I think): opponent was a lad called This content is protected
think it would hav been a really tough fight for both of them wit fenech prop getting a ud/md.. honestly believe if mccullough had power to go wit his iron chin and unbelivable workrate he could hav been one of great featherweights.... anyone agree/disagree???
