After reading a post on Naz i thought "Its a shame Naz and Morales never fought" then decided to go watch a Morales fight and chose McCullough. I had forgot how good this fight was and what heart McCullough had, I scored this fight much closer than most would 116 -114 to Morales. Ledermans scorecard was pathetic as usual. I recall Morales stating this was one of his hardest fights. McCullough had heart, he just kept coming back at his opponents, the stamina and a rapid workrate, he could go 15 rds easy. He had the toughest chin going. Unfortunately he just didnt have the punch power. If McCulloughs Fists were as strong as his chin how far could he have gone? :think
a good analogy. He still became word champ though didn't he! I don't know if its fair to ask if he had a certain atribute how far he would have gone though? I mean you could say if Munroe had great foot work how far could he go too? Or if Dunne had a tough chin how far would he have gone? No point because really a lot of boxers were very good but not p4p greats because they were missing just one attribute. Funny enough there are some boxers that have not 1 but 2 attributes missing but can be so good at the attributes they are good at that it can make up for it. McCullogh was savage chin and heart which got him far along with his amateur background.
Yes he beat Yasuei Yakushiji. Yeah i know its all speculation but its interesting to wonder. He had the crowd booing at Naz and gave Morales two black eyes. I wonder how a fight with McCullough and Manny would have been? their styles really would have gelled.
