OK, a lot depends on mentality and stamina improvement (either is not easy to do) but even if Joshua will be in great state of mind and will be prepared to go 12 rounds, there are a lot of questions on how exactly he can overcome technical difficulties in the rematch with Ruiz:

    1) How to use his jab more effectively? His jab is nowhere near as good as Wlad's was, but it is desent. Against Ruiz it looked really poor. Can't remember when Joshua's jab looked so ineffetive in the fight.

    2) How to avoid body punches? They took a lot of energy from AJ in round 6 and it seemed that he didn't know how to avoid them.

    3) How to make Ruiz combinations less effective? Throw 1-2 or left hook off the jab and try to grab Ruiz using Klitschko/Lewis tactics against smaller guys? Well, I think Klitschko and Lewis mastered clinching for years, AJ hadn't. So if he tries to hold Ruiz but won't do it in the proper way (like Wlad or Lennox did), Andy can catch his like he did with Joe Hanks when Hanks tried to come in clinch

Add here Ruiz effective prrying the punches and you have a tons of tecnhical diffiiculties for AJ. I think it will be a very hard task for him to win this fight. Ruiz is really a stylistic nightmare for him in contrary to what people thought before the fight.

The main thing Id advise is hit him...a lot, preferably in the face.

    Play range

    Fight conservative

Dont force a stoppage that isn't there

I thought he won round 1,2 and 4

If he hung back and assessed the situation better in round 3 he may have taken a 10-8 and not burned out his gas tank

Even then Ruiz still got in when Joshua threw and his jab wasn't effective

He is doomed. Andy's hands are too fast, AJ can't react to that speed, in the fight Andy launched 5-6 punches which AJ couldn't even see coming, the exact same problem will occur in the rematch. AJ is going to fight a very tentative and negative fight and it will by Andy Ruiz doing everything to get inside to get the combinations off.

Once AJ gets hit, its going to be a repeat of the same. In this sport of boxing, everyone gets hit eventually no matter how careful you are or how defensive you try to be.

He need to fight cautiously. Every time he got too aggressive, it played right into Ruiz's strengths. He helped Ruiz close the distance.

He need to stick with the basic 1-2. Jab the belly and the face and follow up with the right hand. Once he starts throwing more than 2 punches, he left himself over for counters.

AJ has demonstrated that he can win a fight from long range. He just need to stay focus and not take too many chances.

aj needs a lot of improvement from what he showed this weekend. first he needs to learn to tuck his chin in and learn how to use his shoulders to block angles. all his problems came from an improperly defended chin that left him wounded the rest of the fight.
he needs to learn how to properly take a half step back. he steps with his rear leg, then drags his lead foot like it was on a chain. andy will punch you while your weight is shifting from front to rear. he needs to learn to skip with that half step so his body is ready to move in any direction at the end of that skip.
he needs to learn to double pump the jab so that andy cant time it and lunge forward right behind your first jab.
he does not need any strength conditioning, all focus should be on endurance and flexibility.
