DeGale needs Frank. The boys got no fanbase, an ass-ugly style and a terrible attitude. Who the hell would want him now?
Criticism then, whatever you want to call it. They definitely copped some in the media, and I'm sure I'm not the only one to hear lots of people moaning about what a joke the whole affair was. Not that there's anyone to blame but Sky, anyone with eyes knew Harrison would bottle it, just like he did against a journeyman taxi driver a couple of years before.
Regardless of the Sport, when it becomes too much of a business the Sport suffers! Perhaps there isnt enough money in boxing!!!! Well if they fought more than twice a year they earn more, we would see more, they would get better and the everybody is happy. There are so many fights out there that happen and we dont see them, probably cos there isnt enough money to be made...sad but true.
I blame Harrison more than Sky or Haye. He knew he didnt fancy it and he knew he had zero chance. Plenty of godforsaken ****wits on here bigged him up, including uber-**** Primadonna Kool. I blame them for it more than anyone else. Consumers need to consume intelligently or they will get more ****. In this case it seems that Sky want to offer a better service overall.
Yeah I'm sure Frank would be sympathetic in his column if something like that happened on another promoters show:blood
The ''It'll be different this time'' brigade lol: I have to attach some blame to Sky because they ought to have known what they were letting themselves in for. The only time Harrison ever looked remotely good as a professional was in the second Williams fight. Haye.... I'm not sure. It didn't do his credibility any good and it's something he ought to have been aware of, though a big payday for smacking a journeyman around who is hated and ridiculed by the general public must have been hard to resist. Absolutely. It wasn't Allegedly's fault that seemingly everyone involved knew that Cook was gone and decided to bet on the outcome. He was probably so pissed about missing the opportunity that he felt dutybound to come out swinging. In fairness Ed Robinson's line of questioning was bang on, not sure why Allegedly felt the need to start whining about it. Then again, Sky could and should have rejected Cook. All parties ought to share equal blame, Allegedly, Cook and Sky. Oh, and the WBO of course, but we've stopped blaming them and just accept that they're just in it for the money and change their own rules to suit.
He might not have a big marquee name to hang his hat on, but he still has the strongest and most in depth stable in the country.
Harrison's the last man who should get the blame. He accepted a World title shot, yes he talked himself up but he's done that his entire career. It was Sky who pushed for it in the first place!!!!!! They're to blame.
I really dislike Harrison. Really dislike him. Hes a horrible, conceited man and people make excuses for him.
if all this is true (although there doesn't seem to be any official confirmation) does it have any favourable implications for future terrestrial/channel5 coverage?
