Right then... Marquez is currently the holder the WBA super belt and the WBO belt From my understanding the WBA award the Super Belt when a fighter held two recognized belts in the same division. But Marquez only has the WBO. We also have a WBA champion in Miguel Acosta. So now we have 5 world titles at this weight.. ?? Surely when Campbell was stripped the WBA super belt becomes no-more (as it should do anyway owing to the fact it's the worst idea ever). WTF is going on ???? :nut
You're in the wrong forum mate... I don't know either. Every time I think one of the ABC's has trumped the others with their stupidity, one of the others raises the bar. Emeritus Champions, Super Champions, Diamond Champions, Interim champions, it's laughable.
Whats bad is the featherweight division where you have Johnson the Super Champion, Gamboa the Regular Champion and Caballero the Interim Champion. The WBA is def the biggest joke in boxing right now esp breaking there own rules and making fighters the WBA Super Champions for no reason other then they made a few title defenses.
WBA is trying to establish 3 "champs" in each division. Apparently the WBA or WBO is having a unification of their interim belt...yes, they somehow have two interim "champs."
