The one thing Roach seems to have worked on with Khan is his distance between the opposition. He keeps himself far enough away so he can use his reach advantage but retract to a safe position afterwards. If he is as disciplined with this as he has been against Kotelnik in particular it could be an easy fight for Khan.... saying that Maidana will catch him at somepoint and that's when we will see what sort of champion he is

starting to really look forward to this now :D

Maidana is fairly dangerous but is not 'the acid test', he got outboxed by one paced Kotelnik FFS. With Khan, because his chin is so suspect, he is always going in with comparitively big punchers.

Maidana is a flapper, with poor boxing skills. Ortiz had a questionable chin from the start of his career and stood and traded with him boxing with zero intelligence. As nearly always, Khan will win this fight as he pleases unless he gets caught.

Creativity or luck will beat Khan, not brute force.

Bradley wants to make the Khan fight. I think the Khan fight should be looking for that fight.

He was blatantly honest on the latest 'On the Ropes' show and said that he isn't ready for Bradley just yet, but wants to fight him if he can by the end of the year. Personally, I think Maidana is his best option as he'll get some rounds in with a dangerous pressure fighter and we'll all be able to gauge just what level he is at right now. Should Khan win, I think the winner of Urango-Alexander would be the best option afterwards before jumping in with Bradley should all of that go to plan. Who knows what will happen, though:think.

It was this point when people were planning ahead for Khan that he was sparked out by Prescott

I'm not 'planning ahead' at all; I'm merely talking about his best options and pointing out the fact that Khan himself said Bradley isn't a good fight at this stage. I never said 'Khan will beat everyone and then Bradley can come get some'.

Aye... I'm behind the curve on this issue, for me MAB/Kotelnik/Salita prove relatively little.

Still very unsure Khan can hang with Bradley and the like.

wasn't really a dig at you..

I'm finding myself planning different future match ups for Khan because he has the tools to be a true great IMO but it was when I was thinking like this last time round and he met Prescott. I'm not saying this will happen with Maidana but that's the thing with Khan he will always have the question mark

I was looking forward to Khan facing a name like Bradley or Judah next in the US like Roach has been saying. I'd rather see him vacate and fight Bradley for his world title instead to be honest. Khan will flatten Maidana.... and wasn't Khan's last oppnent his mandatory anyway?

Salita (his last opponent) was the mandatory, but Maidaina is the 'interim WBA champion' and so Khan has to give him a title shot. :-( Corrupted Sanctioning really but thats how it is. Maidaina is a winnable fight for Khan as long as he dont get clipped by a big hook, its a fight where he will need to keep ALOT of defensive discipline but i can see Khan stopping Maidaina rounds 8-10 and if not then a wide UD with maybe a scare or two throughout the fight.
