Interesting fight IMO, the WBA champ vs his mandatory #1 challenger.

Jones absolutely dismantled a top 5 Cruiser in Firat Arlsan to with the belt in Germany. Arslans face resembled a cat stuck in a blender post-fight. Jones has got to be the most awkward, and among the most dangerous Cruisers out there. That said, some think he is slipping in his mid-30s, and he has had a 1 year layoff.

Brudov is in his prime and holds a 38-2 record, never been stopped. IMO he won his fight with Arslan (his most recent loss), though he was throughly outboxed by HOFer Virgil Hill years ago. Brudov knows that if he should lose again he will slide way down the rankings, so watch for him to come out guns blazing this fight.

    Yet you comment?

    Fail.

Yeah Jones had a layoff against Arslan as well, people thought it would hurt him yet he showed Arslan up in spectacular fashion.

    Yea this is crap...

There was no reason for him to sit on that belt for a whole year..... he should of faught Brudov many months ago. Who knows how he looks like now..

Yes he's been out 1 year but he was out 15 months with a serious injury before fighting Arslan, and he showed up in great condition.

I think Jones will show up in shape again despite the layoff.

Jones should win, but he's no spring chicken. Eventually all these long layoffs are going to bite him in the ass.

    Guillermo jones wins.

    Why?

Because in my personal opinion he is the best cruiserweight.

His fight with Cunningham was very close, I had Steve by only one round.

Jones is probably better but if he wins we should have another long time of inativity around the WBA CW belt.

Assuming the 1 year layoff hasnt effected him too much I'll say Jones.
