Putting the obvious corruption to one side for a moment, is this the biggest indication yet that WBA want to match Usyk with Wilder? https://www.wbaboxing.com/wba-ranking#.ZCgZRr3qadM As ever, money talks...
Possibly. I'm more concerned that Sugar Jonathan Guidry is only #8. Lol. We Be Atrocuous are hilarious.
Wilder is number 1 with the WBA. Does that mean the WBA might order Usyk Wilder instead of Usyk Dubois ? I really hope so. I think Usyk wins but I wouldn't be surprised to see Wilder stop him to be honest.
The flame will be lit and he will need to forensically review the ashes before Wilder appears anywhere near his top 30.
Wilder beats every heavyweight not named Tyson Fury. Even if he takes a ten round pummelling he only has to land one & invariably does.
Rumour is Dubois is injured still and may not be ready until July/Aug and therefore wilder will then be called. I have a feeling he will then be moved from the WBC rankings and will be replaced by AJ
I think that is a fair point. But at the same time WBA ranked Wilder under him after the Helenius win last October for a reason, and Wilder has done nothing since either. So, I can only imagine the WBA's argument would be that of inactivity. However they also have had a hand in that. My understanding was that Bakole, as #1 contender, was in line to fight Dubois, and instead the WBA sanctioned the Lerena farce... One thing's for sure, Boxxer need to be moving heaven and earth to get Bakole a fight even if it is just a tick over. Sitting around for 10 months waiting to see how the cards will fall is what has been killing his career. Shalom should have announced a tune up fight upon Bakole's signing back in February. Instead with Dubois injured they were gambling on the Undisputed negotiations breaking down and being next in line. Looks like the WBA had other ideas when they saw the potential €¥$£ on offer for Usyk v Wilder. That's pro boxing, I guess.
Yes I bet Dubois is “injured” it doesn’t make any business sense him facing Usyk. Although frankly it doesn’t really matter. The lad is a glass cannon and will end up in the same place as David Price.
Dubois doesn't look anywhere near the level of Price to me. It's a damn pity the corrupt WBA are making an aging Uysk waste one of his last fights against Dubois.
Well he did get injured in his last fight but I take your point for sure. I rate him a bit higher than you do but he's not ready for Usyk and certainly needs more fights. Whichever, it's a good excuse. For the moment, either Wilder or Bakole would be interesting fights, with Usyk a favourite to beat both for me.
