I don't think it's fair to have just the 3 WBA champions. What happens if the regular champ is injured and the interim champ is relaxing on a beach? That would leave just Sturm and his super belt for that week, and you can't have a super champ if you haven't got a regular champ for him to be superlative in relation to. It would make a mockery of his status as super champ.
WBC will soon have 3 welterweight champs. Mayweather -- WBC belt. Guerrero - Aydin winner -- interim belt Berto - Ortiz winner -- WBC silver
Everyone knows the only legitimate WBA titles are the regular, super, interim, diamond, mega, WWF, super world, world super, tag team, temporary interim, platinum, and regular platinum diamond championships. All other belts should be ignored.
yeah starting with the fighters, promoters and managers....everyone seems ok with the all the belts...but if you ever want to draw new fans or actually explain who the champ is...your explanation should be good

The worlds precious metal supply is suffering with the production of all these damn belts. Just for the record, I get that it's useless complaining and I gave up on belts and "champions" a long time ago and still love boxing, but that doesn't mean we can't make fun of it. Good thread.
