On a side note ... Jimmy Montoya will be training Kessler for this fight and he will be in the corner during the fight along side Richard Olsen...

I think in som cases the WBA super champion status is a good idea. for example:

we are currently seeking a unified/undisputed heavyweight champion. klitschko is trying to do this, however, for the next year he wont be able to because of mandatories against tony thompson and alexander povetkin. But if he had won the WBA insted of the WBO he would have become super champion and only had 1 mandatory and could have unified 3 major world titles by the end of the year already having the IBF and WBA and could have chosen between the WBC and WBO.

so having a super champion isnt all that bad in some situations, it is frustrating is it not having to wait for thompson and povetkin whilst peter and chagaev are holding the 2 other belts.

but i can see that it de-values the regular champion and i think at 1 point in the cruiser div we had mormeck the WBA super, hill the WBA regular and Arlsan as the WBA interim, meaning 3 champions for 1 belt!! lol

    Kessler should be the champ.

Kessler fights Sartison, Mundine fights Sam and the two winners presumably Mundine and Kessler fight each other a few months later.

    Seems to fit nicely together.

Maybe Kessler - Sartison will be for the WBA interim regular belt. The WBA is a very credible organization although respected columnist Dan Rafael thinks otherwise.

Further more he is coming off a loss...how is he able to challenge for the belt especially in a mandatory position. Judah couldn't why does Mikkel get special treatment?

Remember? Kessler 'petitioned'. Not that it implies bribe. But after Palle screwed over Warrior, Palle 'lobbyed' to get Miranda rated number 2 and get the fight back on track. I guess Palle calls the shots at WBA? Not sure if the Miranda thing is true, but given who he has been able to get into the ring at 168, there could be some truth to that. He hasn't fought the top guys at 168, but not his fault. ;)

Team Palle is really something to behold. The ASSUMPTIONS that they seem to go on is really astounding. First they assumed to be able to force Mundine into a fight, and now they are assuming that the WBA regular title may be up for grabs by the time the fight comes off. Crazy ****, I tell ya.

    Could have been nice:

If Palle wasnt betting his bank account on this becoming PPV (very unlikely if its not for the belt).

If it wasnt for the fact that Sartisons manager said that Palle promised it to be a WBA regular title fight.

If anyone could see why Sartison shouldnt pull out of this fight, if it turns out not to be for the belt.

Think about it, you are a boxing manager, you have a talented prospect who havent yet fought at top level. Would you let your guy go through with it.

It seemed a little hard to understand from the beginning.

Without the title the risk/ reward scenario becomes absolutely ridiculous for Sartison manager to let him fight Kess.

Mundine will vacate (beat Shottiman), but shouldnt he, then Sartison will pull out:admin

What a ****ing discrace that would be for Palle, wouldnt really feel sorry for him though, but what a shame for Kessler.

Palle bankrupt: Hardly so soon after the Calzaghe fight. That doesn't make much sense.

Team Palle says they are high-rolling with the Sartison fight. How I ask? I mean: Small venue and fairly cheap opponent. That's not high-rolling in my book. I don't see Palle risking much because Kessler is all he has for now. If Kessler looses Palle has basically nothing.

Palle further says that he has spoken to WBA today (yesterday for some of you) and that he is absolutely sure that the Sartison fight is for a belt.
