Maybe throw it onto the Joshua-Ngannou undercard? (Guessing it's too tight a window to rush it onto the Fury-Usyk undercard... but, btw, who is on that undercard besides Opetaia-Briedis?? (Or do they just stand pat with those two huge fights?)
Terrible match up on paper, don't even know who this guys is and after watching a little of his fight with Trevor Bryan where the fight looks like it was fought in slow motion the combatants were so slow and lethargic, I don't give him much of a chance. Bakole probably stops him without much difficulty.
Is this an eliminator for the super, regular or yet another completely pointless belt this awful organisation have created ? If it's the "super" (aka the actual HW title) then Chaney gets an eliminator by beating Trevor Bryan ? Just lol. WBA are the worst ever organisation in the history of boxing. And there's some stiff competition there.
Happy for Bakole. This is an easy fight and one that gets him closer to a title shot. Bakole vs Pulev/Charr would be an acceptable fight and I wouldn´t mind if Bakole got a title shot. What would suck is for the WBA to be vacated when Bakole/Charr/Pulev hold it.
Bakole 6th round TKO for me against Chaney. Not a great fight. Chaney did pretty well against Bryan but will simply get overpowered by Bakole here. Only found out about Joyce V Kash in the comments lol. Joyce KO in 3rd round. On the same card is Dacres V Adeleye which might be an interesting fight although both fighters lack any real potential IMO.
Easy route to a title shot for Bakole now, he's gonna blast through Chaney and the winner of Charr vs Pulev. Really underrated fighter, he'd smash a lot of the more hyped guys right now.
If I had to guess, I'd say it's an eliminator for the "Regular" version of the title, but it prolly won't be long before the holder of that is the sole titlist at heavyweight. I sincerely doubt Usyk or Fury will come back around to the WBA in the rotation of mandatories, or even fight another mandatory at all for that matter. Much more likely they take the fight with AJ/Ngannou or some other big money fight, if they even fight again after the undisputed fight and a possible rematch. I'm gonna say Bakole ends up being a "full" WBA champion by the end of the year, after he wins this, beats Charr/Pulev and the winner of Usyk-Fury vacates. By the summer of next year at the absolute latest, unless the title ends up out of his hands before then. Thankfully we're down to just three of those regular belts, and once they're gone the WBA will be back to just having one belt like all the others, outside of Interim versions I assume. Really sucks that it isn't just two left, considering the fact that the whole reason Usyk and Dubois fought was to consolidate the Super/Regular titles into one. Charr won a lawsuit against the WBA though, and they had to reinstate him in the title that they had just gotten rid of less than a week before. Pretty stupid, but in the short time I've been a fan of boxing I've come to learn that no situation is too stupid or bizarre for the alphabet groups. Just look at what's going on with Opetaia at cruiserweight
