He should take the fight, there is no disgrace in losing to a guy who no one wants to box.

Rigo is also getting on a bit so who knows, maybe Carl could get lucky and box a Rigo who gets old over night.

I think it's the wrong sentiment for fans to give boxers a pass for ducking their mandatories if they know they'll probably lose.
Boxing isn't for sissies, and if you win a belt you know you can't always choose who to fight, where and when and for what kinda money. Unless you're Floyd of course.

Frampy can make easy fights for big money against his voluntaries, against some countryman or turd with a lot of backing, but with mandatories there's much less control, wich it was DESIGNED to be.

I hate it when boxers only want to take the easy route or even think they deserve that because they're somehow entitled.

I'd like to believe that we see Frampton fight Rigo next but I have no faith at all that the wee man will put his cash cow in there to lose which he will.

Off last Saturdays showing it is crystal clear that neither Quigg nor Frampton beats Rigo.

No I disagree; Frampton is a very good fighter. But Rigondeaux is exceptional, and financially a terrible matchup. McGuigan would not be doing his job properly if he let Frampton fight Rigo for anything other than a payday that is seemingly not practical.

He'll vacate because it's the smart business choice for what is a short career. So neither of your options apply to the real world. Bored of all these 'duck' posts. Boring, boring... boring.

Rigo is a joke, the man doesn't fight, watch his last couple fights. Carl should go after lsc, Selby

There's also a huge majority of real Boxing fans sick to the back teeth of fighters side stepping big fights recently.

Plus he has no chance of winning or else he would fight him. Both Carl himself and the wee man know this.

Recently?! It has always been the way!

There have always been the 'insiders' favourites, with the small fan support who seemingly always are/were avoided; there has always been fights that fans would love to see made, but do not happen, yet boxing has always survived...

It's plain as day that from day 1 McGuigan doesn't want Frampton anywhere near Rigo. When Rigo 's name is ever brought up you can see the panic in the wee man's face.

I did not really like McGuigan as a fighter or pundit, but as a manager he is being smart. Unless the money is huge, why on earth would anyone who has any credibility at 122 fight Rigo?

Does not pay the bill though.

Twenty years down the line I will expect Frampton would take living in a mansion, sorted financially for life; over someone mentioning on here how at the peak of his powers he did the 'right thing' and lost his '0' to Rigondeaux and never really got over it, and now is struggling to make ends meet.
