Yes that is great, but why now? Kovalev - Ward is the biggest fight in boxing now, between the #1 and #2 P4P fighters, both in their prime, both the same size, and both actually willing to fight instead of talking endlessly and retiring half way through. Why remove the belt from the equation, it is obvious to anyone with half a brain cell that Kovalev won't cancel the Ward fight just to handle his mandatory (that mind you, by this point, has been awfully quiet).

Damn... I really want to see this one. But yeah, there's no reason for Kovalev to fight him when he has Ward more or less lined up.

Good! Kovalev will need an opponent this Fall when Ward pulls out of their fight.

Wilder has been allowed to refuse to fight his mandatory fights for a very long time now, Wilder has had four voluntary fights against bums...............When will Wilder fight a ranked fighter, a real ranked fighter?

OMG this will be hilarious. I was such a huge fan of Bramer over 10 years ago, yes I bought into the hype. But the matter of the fact is that (including his personal problems with the law) he is quite mediocre and very beatable.

Kovalev will brutally slaughter him as I rate Brahmers chin average. Not glass but definitely not iron as he got wobbled multiple times. I hope this happens in Germany where Kovalev can end Brahmers career in his backyard.

WBA once again showing how much they love the money. Trying to squeeze all they can out of the Kovalev Ward fight. WBA are a joke

I'm sure Kov's team tried in the past to get Braehmer with no success. He could end up being the one asking to postpone the mandatory lol.

This is an entirely different governing body with a very different set of circumstances. What part of that don't you understand?

I am aware but the very fact that Kovalev has to paybstep-aside money to a paper champ irks me. Top fighters should not be penalized for facing each other, how do you not see that? This is their way of making a living and a step aside costs could get in the way of legacy defining fights for boxers that aren't financially set, like Canelo or Cotto.

This is a good thing for boxing. They've done it to every WBA champ so they can unify their belt and bring some legitimacy back to it.

As it stands Braemar and Kov are both world champions with the same belt.
