WBA President Gilbert Mendoza has ordered WBA Welterweight Champion Antonio Margarito to fight his mandatory challenger, WBA Interim Welterweight Champion Yuriy Nuzhenko of Ukraine who is undefeated. It is alsos stipulated that a deal must be in the works by mid-December.

So, who will win, and how will this fight turn out? Vote and comment.

That belt'll probably be joining Riddick Bowes' WBC belt in the bin pretty soon then.

It's highly unlikely he is going to vacate as him and Cotto will be rematching for nothing next year. Nuzhnenko has been waiting a long time since Dec.'07 to get his title shot. He's in the same position Sergio Martinez(154) is in by not getting his long overdue shot at glory. The WBA is right in enforcing it since Cotto kept putting it off when he held the title.

Margo gets to take the 0 from another undefeated fighter and gets his tuneup at the same time while fulfulling his mandatory.

Well I guess the fight would serve two purposes. He gets his mandatory out of the way and gets an easy tune-up for Cotto. I mean the deal fell through with Clottey, he don't want to fight Williams right now and there is not much else in the way of big fights so I think he should get Nuzhnenko out of the way in January or February 2009.

    I think he will vacate.

A Margarito vs Cotto rematch would still be a massive fight without the WBA belt, surely?

I havent seen any of Nuzhenko, one can only assume Margo will pummell him though, as he would most in the division at this time

He's not very good and arguably lost to Irving Garcia. This fight probably won't go past 3 rounds, if that long.

Saw his last fight with Irving Garcia which was stopped and went to the scorecards and was declared a draw.He looked pretty poor, and it was suppose to be a not so hard fight.
