The World Boxing Association Championships Committee has notified the camps of WBA “super” super middleweight champion Andre Ward and “regular” super middleweight champion Carl Froch that they have 30 days to reach an agreement to fight in a period no longer than 120 days. In the event an agreement is not reached, the WBA will open the fight to purse bid

The WBA orders a "super" beltholder to defend against the mandatory... when was the last time that happened?

Ward would easily outpoint him. Carl has said as much himself. He doesn't want the fight and nor do the majority of boxing fans. I appreciate Ward's skill but his fights are often boring. Froch vs. Chavez Jr. makes for a far more interesting and entertaining match-up.

get the fight in the UK, with a small ring, and a ref to penalise ward for clinching and froch may win, if not it'll probably be a UD for ward again.

ward may have regressed for not fighting much for 3 years,

if froch can't get chavez this may be a decent fight for him to take, he could lose without it really affecting his legacy / reputation too much. And if he wins he may well be a "international superstar"

If i was team Froch i would let it go to purse bids, as i would put in highest purse bid as it would be a summer fight at Wembley no doubt

can't see Wembley, ward has little or no support, fight will likely be at forests ground I think if it were to happen.

Shouldn't this be one of the biggest matches in boxing ???

Must be loads of public interest, no ?

The "Legend" Carl Froch versus the last remaining man to beat him ? Avenge the defeat ?

If they fought 100 times Ward wins all 100 times.

Froch knows this so will duck him.

But Froch is such a warrior and a "legend", and an "ATG", hhe'll be keen to avenge the defeat.
Especially with Ward having been so inactive.

    We'll see.

Anyway, I think it's a good thing that the WBA is doing this.

Yep makes sense. Both champions are inactive, they should be forced to fight each other.

With roc nation backing eddie Hearn may not be able to win the purse bid either. Maybe Froch will get his Las Vegas fight after all...
