WBA overrules appeal: Kessler must fight Häussler

    Sad news....:(

    WBA has overruled Teampalles appeal against Mikkel Kesslers mandatory defence against Danilo Häussler.

    Before the Sartison-Kessler match, WBA demanded that the winner had to fight Danilo Häussler before october 19th.

    After Kessler won the belt, Teampalle made an appeal to WBA to withdraw the mandatory defence.
    Teampalle stated, that the Kessler-Häussler match would be a gross mismatch from a ranking point of view (Häussler was ranked 3 in WBA before the match, but ranked below top 15 in all other organisations) and from a medical point of view (Häussler has not been in a match in over a year, and has previously lost to Mads Larsen and Rudy Marcussen, deemed as inferior to Kessler.)
    Teampalle even said, that they feared for Häusslers health, because Kessler wanted a match like that closed quickly by all means necessary, and a match like this could get boxing banned in Denmark, as it is in Norway.....

    -But today, according to danish newspaper Jyllands Posten, the appeal has been denied by WBA, and Kessler must fight Häussler before oct. 19th.

    In that case Mikkel should vacate.

    It is only a paper championship anyway, as Joe has not vacated the WBA belt.

    Should seek a match with Bute or the winner of the WBC title, or even move up and challenge Antonio Tarver.

    Good question. All I have ever heard is that pro boxing "lacked proper safety methods", or something ******ed like that

    Kessler was gifted this belt so I don't see what he or his team have to complain about really. Plus, as mentioned above, Joe is the real champ anyway. Mikel should be embaressed to call himself "champ" again.

    Why not rebuild by fighting a good opponent in a ten rounder on an undercard in the US - rather than fighting a chump for a paper championship.

    The WBO is more important than the WBA regular strap, which is saying something.

    Ok Kessler if u don't want the fight then put it on in late August and avoid wasting time. Then challenge a decent opponent in November.

    No problem if it's over ruled. Just get it over with and fast so Kesller can fight a named opponent next.

    Perhaps if he'd fought Miranda instead of pissing away all the respect he'd earned against Calzaghe and fighting some clown for a paper belt, he'd be in line for a REAL title and wouldn't be in this mess...

    Where is Kessler ranked by the WBC??

    If Taylor is insistant on fighting Lacy, why dont we have Froch Kessler for the WBC belt that Joe Calzaghe has just given up ??
