I still don´t get why Fres Oquendo is in the mix. :huh

Quite a stark contrast between the 2 sides. For instance, Fury would have to beat Klitschko again then most likely Ortiz to get to the final to effectively retain his own belt. Whilst on the other half we had Chagaev, Browne and Oquendo. A bit lopsided is it not??

 

May as well bring back the old WBA crew and throw Holyfield and Ruiz into the mix as well.

ya its ridiculous, the ortiz vs ustinov fight should be on the other side of the draw

as it stands they have 3 of the top 5 heavys on one side of the draw and two guys who arent even in the top 10 on the other side of the draw

WBA had an 8-man Hvyweight Tourney in the late 60's.

Joe Frazier said he would "sit it out" and fight the winner (which he did....Ellis).

And the WBA purposely didn't invite Sonny Liston....because they were afraid he might actually win the WBA Tourney.

 

Will it be for the WBA regular, Super, silver, platinum, premium, coach class, interim, Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday belt?

Remember that the WBA morphed out of the old National Boxing Association.....and we know what corruption was inherent in there.

Then the WBC seceded from the WBA which brought us Jose Sulaiman.

 

Fres gets a bye then only has to beat Chag vs Browne winner which was Browne.

You would think Fres was the super champ
